Judged: 1 Anyone who believes that this poster is a black guy probably also believes that Glenn Beck is a patriot whose first concern is the well-being of this nation. |
Jaime, there are no more racists now, on either side, than before your column. You just brought them to the foreground. In your own, less than noble way, you are promoting racism; can't you see that?
Jealousy running rampant??? Any one who believes that Jaime is a patriot is obviously a Communist, Fascist, Liberal Lemming. |
I'm so glad to have this explained to me, and impressed at the power of my few words to manufacture racism that didn't exist before I wrote my column. By pointing out racist comments made by posters on websites or political operatives in the Republican Party, I've promoted racism, but if we all just pretend that racism isn't there, it will just go away. Got it. Thanks, Realist; it's good to know you can be counted on to bring reality to just about any discussion. |
What is with you anyway???? I did not accuse you of "manufacturing racism". I didn't even accuse you of "promoting racism".I didn't even suggest that if "we all just pretend that racism isn't there, it will just go away. Try reading what I said; "there are no more racists now, on either side, than before your column. You just brought them to the foreground". In other words, you just gave them an excuse to spoute their racism again. BTW, the last time I looked, these forums are for anyones opions; not just yours. |
Is someone restricting other "opions" here, Realist? You seem to find space whenever what passes for a thought filters through your cranium. And I guess people wouldn't never "spoute" their racist "opions" if I hadn't quoted the racist "opions" prompted by Russ Neal's column in my own column. But you also wrote: "You just brought them to the foreground. In your own, less than noble way, you are promoting racism; can't you see that?" I know I can't possibly understand the profundity of your insight without explanation, but those words do seem to suggest that I am "manufacturing" racism, even though I guess you only meant to say that I was merely "promoting" it. If I'm going to understand these distinctions you're making, I may have to start taking whatever meds you're on. |
You are and you do |
| |
Really liked those typo's don't you,(opions & spoute). I know you have a propensity to be a "spell checker", when confronted with opinions you can't quite erase. As for the meds I take, can't you write a rebuttal without using a personal attack at someone's intelligence. If you will notice, my post didn't attack your mental capacity; just your mind-set. Do you need an explanation of that distinction? |
Yes, explain where a mind set might originate if not in one's mental capacity.
And while you're at it, explain the distinction between "manufacturing" and "promoting" racism by merely pointing it out. My guess is that you guys think that by pointing out the racist comments of white folks that I'm encouraging racist attitudes on the part of black folks. If that's the convoluted thinking going on here, I'd only suggest that black folks really don't need instruction from me on the existence of white racism. Look how beleaguered and frightened the white respondents seem to be just because the White House is now occupied by a black man. Glenn Beck is blubbering and hysterical, and the teabaggers want their country back, and Limbo is pretty sure that whites are now an oppressed people. Can you imagine, then, since the white corporate heads and the US Congress are still controlled by white guys, just how black people might have felt all these years when people like them held little if any positions of power? I'd really like to hear an explanation of how a little column like mine is "promoting" racism. Yes, some racists turned in comments here, but they did when Russ Neal wrote that there wasn't any racism, too. So, they're either out there, or they're not. Seems to me that they most certainly are, and that acknowledging that fact is not the same as promoting it. But I'm open to your explanation. |
Jaime, I believe the mental capacity is what GOD gave you, the mind-set it what you choose to do with it. As for the right answer, it becomes the sum of what each of us has learned over a life time and how much of what we have been taught can be sifted through our "mental capacity" during our period of "growing up" to create our adult "mind-set". I've answered you as honestly as I can. Your "right answer" is not my "right answer", but mine is no less important than yours. The reading of your post, above, gives me some interesting insite into to the genesis of your mind-set though. |
It is an honest answer, and I'll accept your distinction.
I'm still confused about the distinction between promoting racism and manufacturing it. I can see such a distinction in the making and then promoting of a product, but in terms of shaping other people's attitudes, it would seem to disappear. |
I truly hope this is a tongue in cheek post. Humans of all races and shapes are all one species - the members of the animal kingdom that you reference are different SPECIES from each other. A better example would be different colors/ breeds horses, or different breeds of dogs. Apparently they are smarter than some humans as they do not disciminate among members of their own SPECIES based upon color of the coat or skin... I think the truth is that people dont think racism exists, or dont want to believe it does, if they dont see it or hear it firsthand. So those folks who have doubts - just tune in to some of the right-wing radio shows, blogs etc, and you'll get an eyeful. Its a sad fact that there still is significant racism in our country - lets hope we outgrow it very soon! |
I'm gonna regret it, but I have to ask ...'burning satan symbols'?? Assuming there are black racists - black racists are satanists?? |

funny thing, in today's "USA today" we are treated to a front page picture of that smiling black ba--ard Isiah Thomas, who called twenty thousand Knick season ticket holders "white c--k suckers" and sexually harrased every woman in the Knicks front office.
Nice little article about how wonderful he is and how everyone wishes him well in his new job. OK for blackie to say whatever he wants, but if whitey even has a bad thought, we want to lock him in a cage and all the liberal a--hole, bed wetters will love the ba--ard every day. scum of the earth hypocrites, all of the democratic/racist/ liberal/ bed wetting /punk liberals too fu--ing stoopid to see what is going on around them, because they are all ashamed of their pathetic little lives, and they all want a big black buck to rape them anally to make them feel worthwhile |

Just a little dig at the libs who are generally associated with efforts to drive Christian symbols and references to Christ out of public view. And blacks are wedded to the liberal anti-Christ leftist Democrat Party even though I know that many blacks are practicing Christians outside the voting booth. |
