Dode must of put one of them Gremlins in my word...

Really good points about how a person can change. Unfortunately within the ranks of the Paradise editorial staff is a man too old (perhaps), too filled with his own ludicrous opinions (perhaps), too consumed with a prejudice against his fellow Americans (perhaps), that he can justify in his own mind hate speech of such depravity he accuses his fellow citizens (his neighbors) of mass murder. The man's name is Jaime O'Neill and after I proved he had lied to the Paradise community (as I've done mucho, mucho times before) regarding his claim he'd done no such thing (I posted his actual quote to the mother of a soldier deployed in Iraq, again done here), "The blood of those men and women is on your hands for your reckless support of bad policy, bad judgment, and bad men. Shame on you, Theresa."

Jaime had an excuse for his hate speech saying that he’d not realized at the time her son was in Iraq. I guess Jaime would argue those who supported efforts during World War II were responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands, or that those who support the premise advocating a woman’s right to choose,“have the blood of those male and female babies on their hands” but to point such logical comparisons out, and in doing so revealing his total lack of logic therein, to a man filled with such hate for his fellow ridge residents would be a waist of my time (at least as far as he’s concerned).

It is reassuring to know a man in our community holds such deep and patriotic beliefs that he would blame his fellow Americans for the barbaric actions of the terrorists responsible for those deaths.

This is truly where lines must be drawn, where those who read this filth have a responsibility to remind others what's been said in order to expose it for what it is, and that mission I gladly accept.

Perhaps before the Post writes an article about migrating from hate to tolerance they should read what their staff "writes" on these pages.

The insulting accusation that the US Military has tacit racist recruiting is a pretty disgusting accusation to make let alone reprint like it is fact. The US Military was the FIRST major national institution to be totally integrated. It is hard to beleive that some nation-wide consistent racist effort is underway in recruiting when half the recruiters are of various racial backgrounds. It just doesn't hold water-sorry.

Leyden is right, hate is learned...but often, it is learned by many of us due to the actions of certain minority groups.

I cannot stand negroes, and don't want to live near them...but I was not raised this way. I became this way after negroes brutalized my young son in school, robbed the homes of friends of mine in "changing" neighborhoods, and after I was robbed twice by them, and endured an attempted rape by a negro.

By the way I am Jewish...and I am not the only Jew who has become racially awake. Yes, I know white supremacists hate me too...but I know that walking down the street I have more to fear from negroes than I do from skinheads.

I wonder what the circumstances were in Leyden's personal life that led him to embrace his version of white supremacy?
White supremists don't die and get seventy virgins in an after-life, do they? What would make anyone with an ounce of sanity want to follow an antichrist like Adolph Hitler? Could that be why so many white supremists sport the '666' tattoo, the signature number of the Antichrist himself (Revelation 13:16-18)?

Street thugs are street thugs regardless of color. A basic problem is when one stereotypes a whole group based on the actions of a relative few. Broaden your experience and get to know others in a different venue, such as a synagogue or church.

Right-Wing Conference Tells Activists To Get Their Guns Ready For ‘Bloody Battle’ With Obama The Nazi

At the How To Take Back America Conference last weekend, conservative speaker Kitty Werthmann led a workshop called “How to recognize living under Nazis & Communists.” Announcing the panel in a column preceding the conference, talk show host Janet Porter gushed how Werthmann’s description of Austria in the 1930s is a “mirror to America” today — noting “They had Joseph Goebbels; we have Mark Lloyd, the diversity czar.” The room was packed over capacity to hear Werthmann, who grew up as a Christian in Austria and serves as Phyllis Schlafly’s Eagle Forum South Dakota President.

During her session, Werthmann went through a litany of examples of how President Obama is like Adolf Hitler. She noted that Hitler, who acted “like an American politician,” was “elected in a 100% Christian nation.” Although she failed to once mention Antisemitism or militarism, Werthmann explained how universal healthcare, an Equal Rights Amendment, and increased taxes were telltale signs of Nazism. Werthmann also warned the audience:

If we had our guns, we would have fought a bloody battle. So, keep your guns, and buy more guns, and buy ammunition.[...] Take back America. Don’t let them take the country into Socialism. And I refer again, Hitler’s party was National Socialism.[...] And that’s what we are having here right now, which is bordering on Marxism.

Like so many who took the liberty of comparing G.W.Bush to Adolph Hitler. Are you now alarmed that those chickens are coming home to roost, Frank?

G.W.Bush was ridiculed and made fun of for many things, but I don't recall that he was ever compared to Hitler as racists now refer to President Obama. Even if what you say were true (which it isn't) why do you think two wrongs make a right? Or do you just enjoy gloating?

Good post, Brad. I liked the version after you slew the gremlin. Made me think back to the days when we had a lot of humor in the Post, when Jack Jamison often wrote of the Quayle Sisters, when I had my Friend Fran from Fresno with her crazy malapropisms, when the managing editor (a woman) would write laughable pieces about herself and it seemed like people were happy in Paradise. Now everyone is mad at somebody or some thing and people use Topix to beat each other up. If O'Neill is keeping score I bet he has made more enemies on the Ridge than admirers. Good luck with your efforts to get him to change.

The references comparing Bush 43 with Hitler were both harsh and common place. For example, every lib column, blog and website reprinted the article, "The 14 Characteristics of Fascism" comparing Bush 43 to Adolph Hitler as though it were gospel. Even O'Neill reprinted it in total in his column.(That was an easy assignment for him, wasn't it?) The original article was allegedly written by one Lawrence Britt, whose credentials as a political scientist are as dubious as his actual existence. This tactic dominates the liberal media to this day as evidenced by the vast numbers of liberal columns, blogs, and websites that are repeatedly reposted by lemmings like Frank. So Dode, before you fall off your high horse again, do some research on your own. You should know that I can back up what I say.

Then you admit that your motto is "two wrongs make a right?" You obviously have documented the number of times G.W.Bush was compared to Hitler so I won't get into an argument with you on that. I don't keep score on such things. But if it was nasty then, it is okay now to have the same comparison to Obama? As far as my high horse is concerned, I don't intend to fall off it because that would put me down there with the nasty old men who are always trying to justify their nastiness. As my Friend Fran From Fresno would say, Pub, if the shoe doesn't fit, wear it on the other foot.

If I had time I'd mention a few things about your beloved Christian Pilgrims and Puritans, but I'm busy counting lemmings. And Frank is not one of them.

Just look at Frank's posts. I would estimate that at least half of them are re-posts from other websites - he just repeats what he sees others of his ilk doing - lemming. As far as you saying that two wrongs make a right, here's a flash from the Good Book for you: "Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap." - Galatians 6:7
For eight years the libs sowed seeds of hate against Bush and Republicans in general - and now they complain when their crop is coming in. My last point is that you yourself questioned if 'two wrongs make a right.' That IS an admission that what the Democrats did to Bush was wrong. Thank you for that.

Don't quote your silly Bible to me. And don't rail at me about your fictitious god. And don't blame me for anything the libs or Republicans do. As for what the Democrats did to Bush, you can't fathom what I would like to do to him. I can see why people like you love him so. He is an enemy of the people of the United States and I believe both Bush and Cheney will be held responsible for their wrong doings.

Now stop writing your religious c-r-a-p to me and stop insulting Frank. He is one of the most intelligent posters on these pages, unlike you who sullies the pages with Bible quotes and even silly songs. You and O'Neill are opposite sides of the same coin. Ugh!

Dode, Dode, where's your tolerance? Let me ask you this, could you be arrested for what you would like to do to George Bush? Would it sum up eight years of hate for him? By the way, I'm not a Bushie like you think.
Fictitious God? You have an argument but I have an experience. Let me assure you dear lady, God is quite real and the Bible is true and can be relied on, the evidence is abundant. Christ alone has fulfilled over three hundred prophecies, from the time and place and manner of His birth to the events surrounding His death. The odds of one person fulfilling just eight of the three hundred prophecies is astronomical as two scientists discussed in their book, "Science Speaks, Scientific Proof of the Accuracy of Prophecy and the Bible."
Silly songs? Your classification of silly is what's silly and foolish. But at your age I suppose you're entitled to a little foolishness. However it shouldn't be at the expense of such hymns as the Battle Hymn of the Republic.

Pub, Pub, before I tune you out for good, I have one request to make. Since you are such an expert on the Bible, tell me and other Forum readers what ever happened to Lot and his two daughters after God turned Lot's wife into a pillar of salt?

You really like this story, don't you Dode? You can read the details of it in Genesis 19 but I'll give you the Publius2 short version: The survivors of the fiery destruction of Sodom and the other 'cities of the plain' amounted to Abraham's self centered nephew, Lot and his two daughters. The daughters fiancés took God's warning as a joke and died in the judgment (Genesis 19:14). One day the older daughter said to the younger, "Our father is getting old and there's not a man left in the country by whom we can get pregnant. Let's get our father drunk with wine and lie with him. We'll get children through our father—it's our only chance to keep our family alive." Their plan worked. Lot was oblivious to this both times, and they both were with child.
But there's much more. The children (both sons), Moab and Ben-Ammi fathered nations that harrassed Israel and joined forces with Israel's enemies.- Sin has consequences.

Well, you got some of it right. Now explain how a religious man (the only "good" man in Sodom) can get both of his daughters preggies when he is so drunk he can't remember what happened. And also explain what kind of horrible god would turn a woman into a pillar of salt just because she looked back at her burning home.

The same God who warns people about the horrors of hell.
