If we want to jump start our economy and get away from our dependence on energy from foreign sources it is quite simple, we need to be able to use our own resources. Why is the government trying to stop us from using our own resources?

We have enough oil in this country to supply our needs for quite some time.

California could get back on solid economic footing if we only were allowed to tap into the oil resources we have here. We do have our own supply of shale oil and natural gas in central valley that could be tapped into. Not to mention the reserves off the coast.

Why does our government not want us to use our own resources? Why is our government opposed to jobs. With all the jobs that could be created the state would see a large jump in tax revenue without having to raise taxes one bit.

Afternoon Gramps,

I've been doing a lot of reading about the oil shale plays and quantities of hydrocarbons they contain and yes, they're substantial. One thing the righties always omit is the fact that most of that oil shale in on PRIVATE land.

And the oil from Canadian oil sands, the chi-coms already own it. They just need the Keystone Pipeline to get that oil to our refineries and then onto ships in the gulf for export.

Yes they burn natural gas but more natural gas is burnt off at refineries because we can't use or store it.......

No polluted water is escaping the system and the water is monitored.......

The forest was clear cut and re grew before and when they are done it will regrow again....

Bottom line is that the USA will be doing the same soon.....

Right now most of the oil being extracted is on private land because our politicians are too stupid to allow us to use our own resources that is on public land. Obama claims that he is responsible for increased oil and gas being produced in this country, he is lying because as you stated most of the current oil extraction from shale is on private land.

I have a close relative living in Canada who waited over a year for a simple knee surgery. I have a close relative in Canada who is living with one blocked artery because the government will not authorize surgery unless you have two or more blocked arteries.
