I have noticed a new clinic by the old park. I guess the park wasn't put to use so they opened a clinic. I think there is something about to happen,and usually does when a clinic in a neighborhood opens. My thought. |

there is a saying that 'you can never go home again'....well i feel the same way....i now live in houston....when i go back to kc i just cant wait to come back to the large city....most white folks still dont like hispanics or as they call them "mexicans"....every hispanic is a "mexican" to them....i went to kchs and the white kids hardly spoke to me because i was a "mexican'....thats why i have never gone to a badger come back reunion....i would kick some ass now if some white dude would show disrespect for me or my wife at that event....i know i would get into a fight there and end up in jail because my wife is white...no shes not from kc or that area..now i see that white girls are having sex with blacks and hispanics and their parents dont like that....serves them right....and about all the illegals that are here in the usa....white people created this problem by not wanting to pay decent wages to texans....they hire illegals to save money and now those illegals are here to work for low paying jobs....so now all you white people that hire illegals are paying the price...just too many 'mexicans" in town....you created that problem people....ex resident fo kc

KARNES CITY IS A GREAT PLACE TO GROW UP BUT THE WORSE PLACE TO MAKE A LIVING....I JUST CAN NOT SEE MYSELF LIVING IN MY HOMETOWN....SOME PEOPLE ARE FRIENDLY BUT THERE ARE STILL SOME PEOPLE THAT LOOK AT YOUR SKIN COLOR....IF YOUR NOT 'WHITE' YOU ARE PERSONA NON GRATA....I ALSO WENT TO KCHS AND WAS SHOWN PREJUDICE BY CLASSMATES AND SOME TEACHERS....ONE TEACHER WAS MR BOWERS....THERE WERE TWO INCIDENTS THAT HAVE STAYED IN MY MIND THAT HAPPENED IN HIS CLASS THAT I WILL NOT TELL YOU ABOUT BECAUSE IT BRINGS BACK BAD MEMORIES....MR BOWERS I FORGIVE YOU AND MAY YOU REST IN PEACE....AND CLASSMATES I GREW UP WITH AND PLAYED WITH LATER IGNORED ME IN HIGH SCHOOL JUST BECAUSE I WAS 'A MEXICAN'....I FEEL SORRY FOR THEM NOW....I DO NOT HATE THEM BUT JUST PRAY FOR THEM TO SEE THEY WERE WRONG....I GO BACK TO KC ONCE IN A WHILE TO EAT AT THE MARKET [THE OLD SMOLIKS] SINCE THEY HAVE THE BEST BARBEQUE IN THE WORLD....KARNES CITY WILL ALWAYS BE IN MY HEART AND I THANK MY LORD THAT I GREW UP THERE....LIKE MANY PEOPLE I JUST LEFT TO BETTER MYSELF....SO PEOPLE OF KARNES CITY....PLEASE TREAT PEOPLE EQUAL....GOD GAVE US DIFFERENT COLOR SKIN FOR SOME REASON....PLEASE DO NOT THINK GOD MESSED UP WHEN HE MADE PEOPLE WITH BROWN OR BLACK SKIN....AND PLEASE DO NOT BE SURPRIZED WHE YOU PASS AWAY AND FIND OUT THERE ARE NOT THREE HEAVENS....ONE FOR 'WHITES', ONE FOR 'MEXICANS' AND ONE FOR BLACKS....THERE WILL ONLY BE ONE....MAY THE LORD BLESS ALL HIS PEOPLE!!!!!!

i wonder what happened to all the good looking girls in karnes city, runge and kenedy....back then they were some beautiful girls that we used to hang out with....i could give u names but i wont....i recently saw a picture of a runge girl in the paper and fell in love....she is beautiful and is going to college....so i guess good looking girls are back....THANK HEAVEN FOR LITTLE GIRLS!!!!

Glad to see someone from nearby. My name is Josh and I grew up in Nordheim. The suckiest town ever!! I'm glad I moved to Port Aransas. I recently went to visit because I still have family in Nordheim and Runge. I'll tell you this. Those people are all freaken zombies. Everyone pops pills and goes out of their way to sell them. Just recently I heard about a bust that they made in Nordheim involving a woman. She apparently would forge scripts and get pills to go back to Nordheim and sell them. Apparently she is disabled but I guess not enough to be driving around in a semi-nice vehicle. Has a messed up home but has a decent ride. They are crazy people from "oak" street was what I heard. Apparently its all f**ked up there. Im glad I moved away and just go to visit. |

KC it is small and i can agree it is racist but it is getting better some of the older generations eat you words because all the guys you warned your daughters about they are the ones that are spread eagle in the bed of some mexicans truck or at a friends house with a black guy on the football team and everybody's makin a touch down lol peace RESPECTED LATINA

Way back then when I was a teenage girl, we did not mess with "Mexicans".....I must confess however that several girls I ran around with used to talk about "Mexican" guys and how hot some of them were and would have loved to have gone to bed with them but it was a "no no" way back then.....now you hear all these young white girls having sex with Hispanics and Blacks all over town.....times have changed......I am just sorry that I missed that while I was a teenage girl......I would have loved to have gone to bed with some of my "Mexican" classmates!

You are so right.....times have changed......now my parents still have a thing about me going out with latinos but that is their problems.....our group of girls do not care of what color the skin of our boyfriends are......if he is cute we go for it.....I now have a latino boyfriend and I love him very much.....my parents do not like that one bit but I can understand because they are so behind the times.....they are so yesterday......get over it.....this is 2009.....latinos boys are so in now! |

I grew up in those ugly days, the 60's and had to put up with the hatered that was shown to friends that we had grown up with in grade school and when we got to high school we did not mingled with them because they were "Mexicans". Well folks, guess what? I did have a "Mexican" boyfriend and we kept our affair secret.....we would meet out of town and dirt roads all around Karnes City.....my parents would have killed me if they had known.....I had a white boyfriend only as a cover up but I did not love him.....looking back now I wish I could go back and shout out my love for him.....we ended our affair when we went to different colleges.....I regret that I never stood up way back then and confess to others how much I loved him.....I still love him and we still keep in touch.....how sad because this story did not have a happy ending.....we were two lovers very much in love and had to hide it for the simple fact that we had different color skin and because of that I lost the love of my life.....my eyes are full of tears right now! |

Hey, it's a cruel world.....it is a world that we live in that is not color blind.....in the USA there are people that think White means a pass to hate different people that are not White.....being a Latino, I also had to face the harsh reality of being the wrong color-brown.....I had many close friends growing up thru grade schools that later would not mingle with Latinos[or Mexicans as they would call us] in my high school years.....going out on dates with White girls was taboo......there was a White girl I had a crush on but I never told her......we only looked at each other like we liked each other but knew it was out of the question to ever date one another......now look at how things have changed......White girls going out with latinos and blacks.....and there are still many parents that do not like that.....it is a whole new world folks.....and to Still In Love I only wish you and your old Latino lover of the past can someday find a way to get back together and give it a try once again.....if there is a chance, then go for it and to hell with what people think.....it is never to late for love!

What I want to know is-why did the current generation change? Looking back in my years growing up in Karnes City you didn't date "white girls", hell some "white girls" would not even give you the time of day! Hell, to me that was OK since there were beautiful Hispanics girls all over the place! We would go out with the girls from Kenedy,Runge, Nixon and Beeville so we were not lacking for beautiful young ladies! So the "white girls" didn't like us, no big deal because we were having a good time with those beautiful Hispanics girls! So what happened "white girls"? Why do you now date Hispanics and Blacks? I know some parents do not like this at all-remember the ugly incident when a banker objected to his daughter going out with a Black dude there in Karnes City? So what do you think world-is this a good change or bad change? Karnes City, Tx, what the hell is going on?
