I give you a lot of credit, you are immigrating to America Legally. The immigration debate here is about the illegals that are coming over the border and demanding services,welfare and rights in a Country that is not theirs. I think we (citizens) are not really following our history well enough to understand that this influx of illegal immigrants is our (U.S.) own fault. With legislation like the NAFTA agreement that benefit the upscale business owners by taking most of our skilled labor jobs overseas in search of dirt cheap labor, immigrants are forced to sneak over here to find scab work that pays enough for them to still feed their families. If a big company in your country is only willing to pay you five dollars a day and the neighboring country is paying five dollars an hour for the same job, what would you do? Probably hop the fence pile up 7 to a one bedroom and make do until you can stack enough money to live better.

We are placing too much blame on the immigrants and not our greedy lawmakers. Republicans and democrats are all full of crap. Only difference is that one wants to spend less on domestic issues and the other wants to spend more. In the end the average man still suffers.

Native Americans migrated here from Europe via the Bering Strait. They were the first inhabitants. Native Americans were a communal society and had no individual property, or a concept thereof. Native American tribal chiefs also sold and traded their land "rights", not all of it was taken. When European settlers first came here, this was not an established country of colony with established laws. It is now. If you don't understand that concept, and the fact that illegal immigrants are ignoring the established laws and processes of this nation, and thereby destroying it.... then you either are one yourself, extremely naive and immature.... or both. Quit whining and get off of your mommy's computer.

There is no ethnic group that I know of on the face of the earth that does not have shameful episodes of violence in its past, but we're all just plain folks now and any differences we see between us are illusory. If you live in my apartment complex, you are my neighbor and I will be kind to you and hope for the same in return. I won't worry about where you came from, what you do for a living, or where your family ties are.

I am of two minds on the issue of illegal aliens. On the one hand, we are a nation of laws, and when large numbers of people disregard those laws, it creates problems. On the other, the process of legal immigration is so slow and cumbersome that it presents an insurmountable barrier for many who want to come in from Central and South America. To make matters worse, the situation has become so emotional that no solution that depends on compromise is likely to be found. I'm at a loss.

But I do know one thing: any involvement of the KKK can only make matters worse and no one who joins that organization is worthy of the respect of his fellow citizens.
