Crist becomes darling of state GOP as election nears

Comments by Al Lawson, the consumate Tallahassee Democrat insider once again shows that the conventional wisdom is usually wrong.
Gary Siplin faces an underfinanced, unknown opponent in a Democrat primary who has little chance of winning. Siplin has defeated the old Mable Butler machine time and time again in the primaries for the State House and the Senate. 70% win for Siplin in the primary.
Facing Belinda Ortiz, the once Democrat turned Republican is not challenge at all. Ortiz has lost two elections for the City Council and has no business running for the Senate, except that she craves being in office. 65% for Siplin in November.
Gardiner will probably lose to Darius. Gardiner has not had a competitive election since his slim margins of victory when he first ran in 2000. Has no support by grassroots and while he is a darling of the downtown crowd, they couldn't elect a leader for a bake sale.
Local GOP leadership is a joke at best.
Look for a big year for Democrats overall and for Lawson Lamar to be their biggest defeat when he loses to Mercedes Leon.

McCain is running like "a dry creek",same feckless campaign style Bob Dole run...I don't know,maybe age does have something to do with it.As for Greer and the RPOF,please...even the republicans are disgusted.
