Are you two stupid? The driver was drunk. You go out there and do the job of a police officer, firefighter, or military and then you can comment on something like this. The sacrifices they make for others. Brain was a good friend of mine and he was doing his job and his duty. He lost his life trying to help others. YOu have no right to defend a drunk driver who killed a police officer.

I agree with USAF Firefighter. If you were in need of help from emergency responders (key word emergency), you would want them to respond as quickly as possible. They put their lives on the line every day in order to protect/save you and I from possible tradgedy. You can not blame a responder for trying to get there quickly. You can, however, blame somebody for being drunk and driving - therefore putting their life and the other unknowing lives around them in danger.

as an emergency responder, we all stick together, sounds like the officer was doing his job, but nobody likes the police, right? stupid people are "job security" for the paid & volunteer emergency responders but when they are being stupid, that is when our lives get put on the line. I have many friends that are officers & pray they stay safe on every call. May the officer rest in peace & may the offender get put in IDOC!!
