Blame your own zoning for that!! You are the ones allowing it!

Every business that you the residents are against and pressure the zoning board to reject only means a smaller tax base and higher taxes for you.

I personally would be glad to have someone willing to buy land where a former paint pigment factory was, especially when that factory was operating when lead paint was the norm.

I agree in this situation as long as the developer really does clean up the site before building. In NJ, a developer built condos over the once Red Devil plant. Shortly after moving in, residents found they couldnt walk on the ground (grass) bcse their feet got red rashes. The developer didnt clean up the site totally. Now there are health problems with the residents. We all know that developers are scum so someone has to be make sure he cleans up correctly..

Anything would look better than having that old plant just rusting away. I think a recycling center would be a great addition to the community.

I agree, if zoning allows it, let the man use the land the way he wants.

But, I am sure the residents will complain and this will all end up in court and lots and lots or tax dollars will be spent!!

I agree. You arent going to have many options to utilize the current land, and this option is probably the best one. Creates a few more jobs which that area needs and will create more tax revenue for the region.

i think it is a good idea. Prince was an eye sore and made my house and all surroundings red. I know the garbage will not blow on my land... The smell really is not bad since they are required to keep the stuff off the floors. it won't be any worse then the sewage plant we already have. I feel for the homes closest to that rather then a garbage site. You have my vote.

Has anyone looked at the New Area Planning Zoning for the Palmerton Area in total?

It may change the USE when finalized in the near future.

Talk to your Joint Area Planning members from your respective municipalities.

Right on! The people on this side of the mountain certainly are backwards. Taxes keep going up, they keep pushing away progress. Nothing but a**holes.

when will the younger generation of bowmanstown step up to the plate and run for council. some of those members have served well over 20 plus years, change is needed, because THEY seem to be very afraid of change...

I agree they had two younger people on council but the both dropped out.some of them will only leave when they drop dead.

It is amazing to read all the people for this plant who do not live near or know the family suggesting it.
The Family have a History of Violations as deep as the Supreme court files! The Sludgeplant/sewage plant on a Trailer park never had permits for nine years and since they got them there is all sorts of goodies floating downstream!(DEP). Violations from day one of developing is on record so Bowmanstown beware!
The neighborhood surrounding the Trailer park is full of garbage not from the resident sbut from Developer. I use that term very loosely as he cannot read blueprints. But violations are very steep though the township ignores he has had fines and work stoppage here also when..! He is flooding Germans road and his ponds designed by his engineer do not works is that because of engineering design or the fact that no one working for these people can read blueprints or understand grading? The flooding has been in Newspapers and on TV..Again Bowmanstown..be scared!
Next maybe all in favor shoud read the problms coming from these scam businesses like bacteria
and there was numerous problems in Lancaster within the years so maybe the Newspaper should address them so that you can all get a fair read and make good decisions on whether it is needed.
we have fought many contaminating businesses and it is always those without any knowledge who are for this as long as it is not in their backyard!!!

Irony is East Penn township was facing these same scam businesses 16years ago and maybe you should do some research as you may recall Atty Schwab was involved with the one at the Bowmanstown landfill that East Penn Township and its residents found not only a Conflict of Interst with but found that the costs if anything would go wrong would be theirs to pay!
So Bowmanstown has the right to say no if taking into all accounts just what would be their burden versus what good this scam would do.
Anyone who says they would not mind the smell or dirt or traffic...you are kidding yourself or do not live anywhere near!
look up all the problems on the Internet caused by these scam businesses. Only people who make money on them are for them.
We hope we can turn evidence of all the failures into Bowmanstown. Remember Boards in Bowmanstown look accross from East Penn Elementary and see all the Garbage around an Elementary School,...come at night and see all the Rats...then read all the Violations and tell yourselves that this Developer should be in Your Township! Let the Violations be your Conscience.
Review Jobs before talking..we heard of all the jobs of the Sewage plant and soil
burner...Guess what there was jobs but they were already filled by the people working for the Companies. They feed you empty promises and this family is up there with them all! Lies!!! They do not have enough work for their own employees!
Get the Facts.
For the rest...You are finished with Prince so why now live in a Sewage/Garbage area? There are elderly/disabled living around that area...there are Restaurants/food..who wants to eat with the smell of garbage and feces of rats in their food?
