school board

I was just wondering if anybody else that was at the school board meeting came away as confused as I was.I understand the whole deal with Tina S. trying to get her husband the coaching job, but what about the other 4 why would they vote him in ? What do the Snyder's have on them ? When Ridge Hughes has been getting so much support from parents,players other coaches why would you want to vote him out.

Also did anyone notice how concerned Tina was with getting the whole AD-HOC committee changed. Her and Mike know that would have been 2 to 1 in favor of Ridge. Tina might be sitting at the table but it's Mike pulling the strings

Why did Mike and the 8th grade team meet with the board in executive session before the board meeting ?

I guess Mike didn't have the guts to face the community.

I thought Tina's dumb blonde moment was priceless. Do I have to abstain on voting ? Of course you do, because the coaching job has a salary which means your family benefits. Tell Mike to decline the salary and then you can vote ? Maybe ?

Tina shouldn't be voting on this issue AT ALL. It's clearly a conflict of interest, no matter who is up for vote, because her vote is aimed to get her husband in, whether it's for him, or against someone else. I hope Steve Serfass clears this up. Also, why wasn't Kelly Bollinger, the athletic director, or Kathy Egan in on the interviews? What the heck is going on with that board?

Is it true the school board is under investigation ? I heard a rumor they were being looked at for some of the things they have done lately. I know it's a tough job and alot of resposibilty but just go by the rules and stop trying to keep everything a secret.

Yes, those rumors you are hearing are true! A confidential source in the state department of education has confirmed an ongoing ethics investigation of the Palmerton Area School Board. I wonder what they will find??????

The Ethics Commission has confirmed that an investigation is proceeding after a complaint was filed regarding the Palmerton Area School Board. Mrs. Tina Snyder alledgedly violated the ethics act when she did not abstain from voting against the other potential coaches running for the same position as her husband. Also, she is in violation of allowing her husband into closed executive session. The Ethics Commission IS investigating the complaint and will rule when complete!

Everything you say sounds plausible, but how do you know this is going on?

I've seen a facsimile of the filed complaint form. Additionally, a source in the Dept. of Education has confirmed the filing of the complaint and outlined the fact-finding and determination process that occurs when a complaint is filed. I report it on this forum to inform the Palmerton community of the process in motion here. Please understand that this investigation neither proves or acquits Mrs. Tina Snyder or the Palmerton Area School Board as a whole in these matters. The filed complaint was compelling enough to require an investigation into to this matter.
