This is disgusting behavior. I hope is is fired and never gets another job as long as he lives. I used to work at Gracedale and all of the residents get the best of care there. He is a disgrace to the nursing uniform. I hope he also spends so time in jail.

My mother died in a nursing home from neglect....not GRACEDALE. If I would have had my choice that is where she would have gone, but she did not live in Northampton County so they would not take her.

I feel for this patients family and I hope they file a suit against him.

I know how this feels to have a family memeber neglected, but my poor mother died from her NEGLECT!!!

I hope this jerk spendds so time in jail.

Unfortunately in life we have to make choices when it comes time to place your loved one in a home. I know for me it was the worst day of my life other then when my mom passed away. You think they are going to be safe and taken care of but instead they are abused and neglected. It is a terrible thing to get old.

God Bless his family.

What this attendent did was inexcusable. I have been a nurse for over 30 years and I have been in many, many frustrating situatins but there is NEVER, EVER an excuse for violence against a patient. My word, the man had to go! He has already given up life as he has known it, much of his dignity, probably all control of his life -- he doesn't NOT NEED TO BE ROUGHED UP by some guy with a short fuse!! This makes me sick.

What a sad day for all when older, disabled or handicapped citizens get treated this way. This guy should be put in prison the rest of his life.

Then let's see how big & tough he is.

Sorry for the loss of your father. I feel the same way you do, if they don't want to do their job, or don't like it, they should find another kind of job. My daughter works in a hospital and she loves her job, and her patients. She has even went so far as to buy pajamas for one of them.
I hope the day never comes when my parents have to go to a nursing home.

It's obvious that this article was written off the court report. There wasn't any investigation.

It would be prudent to withhold judgement until the facts are known.

No I dont need the attention nor do I want it , but what I said is the truth, look at some of these nursing homes, it is terrible, My brother and I vowed to our parents to take care of them and we did, my father passed away from cancer just about 1 year ago, but we all took care of him and our mother, thank goodness so far is in good health and we will take care of her as well. The problem is here my friends , they dont do major background checks on people , they pay them such a low wage, so that is a lot of the problem right there. I hope not to burden my kids either but then my parents said that to us a long time ago but you know what, they are and never will be a burden to my brother and me...One way or another we will provide for our mother...and yes I was only joking around

You think some fact is going to come to light that's going to make it OK for a 40 year old man who is hired to care for the elderly to cause injury to a 92 year old resident under his care?

I have some swampland in Florida I'd like to sell you...

Thank you for your condolences, sad part is before Christmas my Dad was going to the YMCA 3 times a week, then his liver failed from medicine he should never have been on, he bled out and never recovered, so going from someone who was independent to some one who needed everything done for him it was very sad watching him struggle to eat, he refused to be fed. If your just in this field for the money, that is just wrong you need compassion to do this and there are many angels out there that do, this bad apple will not ruin the whole barrel.

I am very sorry for your loss as well. I know what it is like to lose your parents who were so active. One day here the next day gone. Very sad.

You are right there are many angels out there...and this guy will NOT ruin the names of good people who work at Gracedale and take excellent care of there patients.
