if the weis machine could only add slot machines, guns, and prostitutes, (already has tobacco prods), it would be just like the grocery stores in las vegas. think of the tax revenue that could come from all this savory stuff and the benefit to our local citizens...

I think this is great, makes life easier & truly one stop shopping!

I hate it when people call beer "suds." Reminds me of dirty dish water. Yuck!

The Malt Beverage Distributors of Pennsyltuckey are some of the biggest cry babies and whiners I have ever seen.
It's about time the rules loosened up and pennsyltuckey came out of it's cave in regards to alcohol sales. Competition. Deal with it whiners. |

Maybe not "one stop shopping". The MC ran an article a while back about buying beer at Wegmans. You have to go through the regular checkout with your food items, put them in the car, come back into the store, grab your beer in a segregated area, and wait on line to pay for it. I'd rather buy a case at a time from a regular distributor. |

This is just how backward thinking PA is. get into the 21st century and put wine and beer in the grocery stores. what a joke the State Stores are. It is great in Az when you go shopping you can get everything at one time.

I believe that the free market should finally take over the sale of beer and wine. However, the distributors should not just be thrown under the bus and left to die. Give them some kind of even playing field. Let them also sell smaller quantities.

This is great for consumers because the beer distributors will no longer monopolize beer selling. Instead of the malt beverage distributors complaining about the changes, they will need to change the way they do business in order to stay in business. If other types of businesses begin selling beer, the distributors will need to provide some other type of service in order to attract and keep customers. We may actually get some advice when you enter a beer distributor.

Every state has it's own weird and out of date laws, not just Pa. |
||||
LOL!! We used to go to this bar in Syracuse NY (great blues town by the way) called "The Suds Factory". I always found the name a little uncomfortable. In Wegman's the cashiers cannot put the beer in the bag, you have to do it. Which is fine by me I can handle my beer! |

Great! Let's also put a casino in all the grocery stores, then we can eat, drink and gamble ourselves to death.
|
||||
Sounds like a great idea actually. A one stop shop. |

The two nearest be are staffed with Indian guys who you can barely understand. It's not as though they know the product. |

We have to put a stop to this, I need to continue to get richer and treat my employees shi*tier!

The PLCB is the monopoly. Beer distributors are only allowed to own one store and sell one major product. Distributors can't change the way they do business until the laws are changed by the PLCB. |

Pennsyltucky is so backward, both the legislators who control this and the people who think selling beer in grocery stores will be the end of civilization. Don't you ever step outside this state? For many years in many other states, it's been easy to pick up a six pack just like any other grocery item. And there is NO evidence that those states have any more trouble with DUI, underage drinking, aloholism or related problems than Pennsyltucky. There is just no good or rationale or reason for the laws and regulations to be this way, except for the beer and liquor related lobbies and to maximize state revenues at taxpayer expense.
|
||||
It may be an inconvenience but some people may still rather get it all done in one store then have to drive somewhere else on top of this errand. |
