First Coast Vioxx Victims Respond to Settlement

I took Vioxx for over 20 months. I accumulated pills because I only took every 5 of 7 days, but because I received no pills within 56 days of my heart attack - even though I will swear under oath - that I was taking vioxx at the time of the heart attack,,,,I get nothing,,,,,how sad

A person will one prescription 15 days before the event will get a settlement whether or not they actually took vioxx.

Deal or No Deal?

My aunt took Viox for years, she took Viox until June of 2002. She was in good physical health, suddenly she had a heart attack and a stroke. She died in March of 2007. I'm sure she would rather have her life than for her family to have the money.

There will be no money because of the way Merck had the settlement written totally in their favor - not fair - you aunt did not receive pills near enough to the heart attack to qualify. Merck is effectively dividing to conquer, i.e. screw long-term users out of a proper recovery for damages.

my mother took the pill from 1999 until they were taken off the market. shes had heart attacks in 1999 ,2000 , and 2003 not to mention the strokes .shes on strong medicine that has its own set of side affects . she was a strong 74 year old that took care of her self now shes in a wheelchair and scard all the time. just waiting for another attack. i asked her if she was going to settle for a cupple hundred thousand . she said no she would go to court. shes still just a little bit mad that they knew at some point that vioxx was a killer and didn't inform the public. shes waiting for someone to go to jail. i mean they sent ceo to jail for steeling money from investors. what about ceo's who kill people.and i wouldn't want to be the lawyer who trys to drop her if she doesn't settle.

i blame the doctors as well!!

Eventhough we're facing this money crisis, i still don't know why this company and lawyers are not doing their best to pay out money to people, it has been forever, hope they are not trying to alleviate this issue trhough the goverment.

i know how you feel, i'm facing money crisis too and can't get an advance structure settlement. My lawyer said settlement have a clause.

Your atty. doesn't want you to get the loan, because that may cut into their part. That part they feel they can steal from you by calling them fees.
