Crash involving police cruiser snarls Okeechobee Blvd. traffic
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a wreck involving a Palm Beach Gardens police cruiser and a red SUV on Interstate 95.

Hmmmmmm- let's see ... I work in Palm Beach Gardens.
Daily, I encounter black & white police cruisers there that most often are speeding and almost always change lanes and make turns with no directional signals whatsoverer. I wonder if those type of driving actions might have contributed to the mishap? |

Looks like the taxpayers of PBG will have to take up a collection for the SUV driver, his doctors and the lawyers.

Big mistake on the part of the police. They should have airlifted the officer to a hospital, just to be safe. It will be harder now to prove disability.Also if the officers car was damaged, does the department reimburse him for travel expenses back home?

Obviously the SUV was trying to "flee" a crime scene. SUV driver is lucky the cop didn't pull out his gun and start shooting. |

Well the guy who the police rescued after he fell off a cruise ship was shot and killed when he became unruly! I guess that is how police work should be done! Then we wouldn't have these nice police cars beat up!

I agree, this New Yawker seems obsessed with cops down here. They have more than enough to worry about up there.

No excuse for the officer, he was safe with that safety thing between he and the thug. He knew better than to drive and take your eyes off the road.
Give him a ticket, he deserves it. |

When I first heard this story, I KNEW that the cops would find a way to NOT blame the accident on their fellow law enforcement officer.

With who? Did the guy start kicking his own azzz in the back seat? Helllll my old man used to turn around and smack me and both my brothers up side the head while driving, and never hit anything (cept our heads of course) Maybe the cop aint a parent. |

Sure blame the guy in handcuffs in the back seat cage. Most of the time I see police cars speeding for no reason and cutting people off all the time, myself included, he should be charge with reckless driving.

I blame the officer. He SHOULD have stopped the cruiser and turned around, pointing his shotgun at the moron in the back seat. Emptying the gun into the moron would have been the correct thing to do. Criminals=animals. They should die for the slightest infraction, when in custody. Littering, refusing to comply with orders-all these infractions should result in immediate execution. Too bad if another prisoner happens to be near the lethal zone and catches a few rounds. Have a nice day!
