To get the classroom space and have the fields the building would have to be 6 (SIX) stories high! There is no other six story high building in Wellington.

Wellington has already spent money on a park design by the West Construction Company. That would be more money down the drain, wasted. Was that $100,000 spent? The council doesn't care; it's not their money; it's the taxpayers' money. What a waste!

Why can't the college buy the New Community Church site and share land with K park? The church could then go on the village owned land on Lyons Rd.

There is a tendency in this county to get voters to "buy" into purchasing land for a specific reason and then turn around and sell for another....just like the board of county commissioners. Watch out!

What Wellingtonians are starting to experience is the same machinations. Political and personal wants above what the people want.

Once GIVEN the land, no matter what is built, it won't be "Wellington's" land, field, or cultural center. It will be the community college's.

There will be no taxes collected on this land if GIVEN to the college.

If what everybody is saying: Priore and Bowen want to GIVE the land and Willhite and Margolis do not want to GIVE the land....the deciding vote goes to Benacquisto, who has fought for an educational site. SO THIS IS A DONE DEAL!##$% Why continue K park "workshops" when the council has already decided the fate of this land?
Wow, shades of the PBC commissioners, again!

What is wrong with the PBAtlantic site off of 441, is that not a college? What is wrong with land on Southern Blvd near Bink Forest Drive? Doesn't siting the college on a busy thoroughfare make more sense? A six story high building will be a "fit" on Southern, not off of 441.

There is a core group that is trying to get this college placed IN Wellington. Perhaps, the final decision should be the residents, not just the elected council.

This could be a one-term mayor. Not only is Bowen talking of GIVING the land to PBCC, he is also talking of building a Village Complex to house the village departments....oh well, more taxpayers' money to be spent.
Yeah, like the Village residents have all this money.

Bowen made his money in real estate and he's already to make this deal.

Bringing this campus to this area would create more traffic and all the other social behavior problems (crime, drugs, reckless driving etc.) that communities have to deal with when these young college kids attend these community colleges.

You are telling the taxpayers that you want to build on donated or free land, and you do not have plans, architectual drawings, land use, etc. in place to pitch your idea?

Go back to TV Homer, where DUH is accepted.

They pay you the big bucks for what reason?

This land belongs to us, the Wellington residents. The College can be build on land anywhere in the "western" communities. However, most students, and teachers, and administrators, will come from other areas, and perhaps other counties. This mantra of creating good paying jobs for the local residents has proven to be a fallacy over and over again. Look at Scripps: well paid workers are coming from other states! The only locals are the janitors, perhaps a few clericals, who certainly are always at the bottom of the pay scale. KPark land must remain park land.

Why is PBCC the only college being considered for the K park site?

Why is Wellington slapping the face of PBAtlantic College? They committed to coming out in the western communities and opening classrooms off of 441, NOT PBCC!

Guess there are potential instructors promised jobs with PBCC. They want to be adjunct professors. Serving their own needs.

Put PBCC elsewhere in the western communities.
