Man accused of punching sheriff's K-9

A Lake County man suspected of driving under the influence without any clothes on fled deputies and resisted arrest before choking and punching a K-9 dog that was sent to subdue him when he didn't comply with law-enforcement orders, authorities said this week.

How could the person be charged with injuring/killing a police dog that was treated at the scene with minor injuries, and was ok? Sounds like "Tacking 0n" false charges, because the guy fought back instead of allowing himself to be mauled by a police dog just for driving around naked. There are good cops, and creep cops who "Lose it" when you make them look bad.
