<quoted text>Thanks for the advise.I know what you mean when you said don't play for the door.We played at the vfw in Whitesburg one night for a total of 9 people 45 dollars but we played as if there were 100.They was having something at another bar close by and all the people were at it.The god honest truth 7 out of the 9 went to jail that night only a man and a woman went home.We put on a show for them and at the end they put on a show for us.
Been there on that one too, but there are so many great funny stories to tell about the years I played.
Best thing is just enjoy it and have fun doing it, that's what makes it worth while.
We had fun as a group and always hung out together , and once we got in the circle the different groups would go watch one another play their shows.
One night 2 other bands showed up at the same club and we were asked to join in with the band playing that night, the result was one of the best jam sessions I have ever been in and it was amazing.
One other thing to remember is that when you're playing the music is only the half of it, if you really want your group to shine over the others then you want your following to be strong. You are an intertainer...mix it up and get the people in the crowd involved.
