I saw the funeral procession go by on the freeway on my way to work today, brought tears to my eyes. Please God, let this war end soon. My thoughts and prayers are with the Baker family.

My heart is heavy and breaks for David's family and friends. He will not be forgotten.
1/5 Marines have a group of Moms coming to the funeral to honor David's memory on behalf of all of us parents and especially for our sons, David's brothers.

I just wanted to say that I rode in this event with the PGR, and even though it was sad, it was also an honor to be there for one of our finest... I was so impressed at all the people and companies along the route that were out saluting and showing there support...It was pretty amazing and touching...

WE were honored to stand not only friday in the funeral line to pray before the casket it was our honor and a privledge to stand outside the church this morning in what ever weather just so this radical group would not be able to reach the family who have lost so much and their suffering has just begun. If they truly want to protest the war march on Washington and have them do something about the war, This young man has given his all,HIS LIFE and his family deserves to be able to lay him to rest in peace. Because of what he died for which is our freedom he has given you the ability to protest freely. Please understand this family and all the other families of our fallen hero's grief. Give them their time to grive and say goodbye to a son who truly GAVE HIS ALL.

Deb: I had Marine Mom friends from 1/5 who were at the funeral today, and they said no radical groups were there. Thank you so much for doing this for the family. They and their friends-- the whole community-- need to grieve in private.

LCpl Baker, you are at home now. To the family, I send my sympathy. I cannot imagine the feelings you must have. David must have made you so proud, but I wish he would have been able to finish his tour and come home to you first.
Thank you for letting him fight for us.
I will be eternally grateful and keep you always in my prayers.

David, you gave your life for not only this country but for your fellow Marines. I know that there are MANY who will forever remember your bravery and know that it was from your soul. Your family will miss you here on earth, but you are home and walking with the angels. Tell Grandpa Baldy hello and don't get too rowdy with your other "brothers" up there, we can only handle so much thunder and lightning from you Marine bubbas...SEMPER FIDELIS!!! Terry's Aunt Stacey

It was an honor and privilege to stand in the flag line at the funeral home and church for this hero.

The dedication and sacrifice of this Marine will not be forgotten. I will always be grateful for those who volunteer to defend our nation.

My heartfelt prayers go out to his family and friends. May God heal your hearts and fill the void that has been left. God bless you all.

May David rest in peace now Thank you for letting us be a part of the flag line. My heart and prayers go out to the family. But from the bottom of our hearts I wanted to say thank you, it will not ease your pain, But your son died doing what he loved and to keep us free. I cannot image your grief but can only say Thank you and God Speed

Mission complete Marine, rest in peace. Your brother Marines and other vets escorted you to your family. Nothing that we can say or do can take this pain from your family. Rest assured that your brother Marines are here for your family.

It is with deep sorrow that I write to extend my condolences for the death of Lance Corporal David Baker. My son, Lance Corporal Kevin Yenowine, was with David when he lost his life serving our country and protecting the others in their patrol. David and Kevin were good friends and former roommates, and Kevin is devastated by his loss. In a letter we received yesterday, he wrote of David,“He was the happiest of us all and the most optimistic.” I know that David was an inspiration and source of great comfort to his fellow Marines. David is truly a hero, and we will always appreciate the ultimate sacrifice he made for us all. Please know that we are forever grateful to David and to you for his bravery and service; our hearts and prayers go out to you as you mourn the loss of this remarkable young man. May he rest in peace.

I respect what you do! When Josh Harmon, I very dear friend of ours, was put to rest two years ago, you and the rest of the loving people, stood and made sure those inconsiderate people did not reach all the mourning people at his service. Thank you for all that you do!
