Yes,legal immigrants that apply, assimilate and become true citizens of the USA. NOT,invaders who proclaim this is thier country. www.mexica-movement.org Aztlan: look it up. There is a huge difference between the two. |

"The Austin chief said "economic immigrants" — people who come to the U.S. in search of employment or a better life — shouldn't be treated as criminals. They're in violation of civil statutes, not criminal laws, he said."
EVEN THE COPS DON'T KNOW IT'S A CRIME!!!!! "Under Title 8 Section 1325 of the U.S. Code, "Improper Entry by Alien," any citizen of any country other than the United States who: Enters or attempts to enter the United States at any time or place other than as designated by immigration officers; or Eludes examination or inspection by immigration officers; or Attempts to enter or obtains entry to the United States by a willfully false or misleading representation or the willful concealment of a material fact; has committed a federal crime. Violations are punishable by criminal fines and imprisonment for up to six months. Repeat offenses can bring up to two years in prison. Additional civil fines may be imposed at the discretion of immigration judges, but civil fines do not negate the criminal sanctions or nature of the offense." What the???? |

Finally some sense from the Police Depts of this country. It is not their job to police immigration laws...and I am sure under Obama all this will change drastically so that our Police Depts. can go back to do their jobs.

Legislative provisions relating to civil immigration law enforcement by state and local police were included in two 1996 laws, the Anti-Terrorism and Effective Death Penalty Act (AEDPA) and the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act (IIRIRA). AEDPA authorized state and local police to arrest and detain persons who are unlawfully present in the United States after being deported and who have “previously been convicted of a felony in the United States.” These persons would be deportable based on their criminal behavior, and their re-entry into the U.S. is itself an immigration crime. IIRIRA authorized state and local police to enforce civil immigration laws in two very specific situations. IIRIRA amended an earlier version of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) that outlined state and local police roles in addressing a “mass influx of aliens.” The law now authorizes state and local police to enforce civil immigration laws when all of the following conditions are met: there is a “mass influx” of foreign nationals; the situation requires an immediate response from the federal government; and federal officials obtain the consent of the state or local supervising department. |

Just as long as someone is doing the job. It seems that everyone just turns a blind eye to this problem. |

1 An example.. I made sure they knew that in addition to the 12 million illegal aliens that the Census knew about, those families had children which the Federal Government was calling citizens. They are anchor babies, and the actual number of illegal aliens is probably over 20,000,000 when you do count the anchor babies. Nice.. huh. The Border Patrol, in conjunction with the local police, SHOULD be dealing with the issue. What happened a good while ago .. 1990 maybe.. the Feds cut the fees they paid for the jail time of the illegal aliens. The local authorities refused to pick them up and hold them for free.. they wanted their costs back, and could not get it. This in a time when every police department in this country was being cut back. The Feds are still not paying full costs for the jail time by the way. |

1 ========== BULL... The illegal aliens have an advantage over the American Labor. They are very, very mobile.. don't have a home.. sleep in their trucks.. sleep in the arroyo outside of town. Further, they always.. always offer to work for less than the minimum wage which is a crime in and of itself. My point here is that if we do removed the illegal aliens from deportation on sight, the American Labor Force will have to be on site for all the jobs that could possible be. We need some way to house our labor force when they arrive to do the job... or they won't come. FREQUENTLY.. frequently, when a job is let, the local Motels raise their rates by significant percentages. I saw a 200% hike in Tonapah, NV a few years back as an example. Further.. Mexico has a labor shortage. Maybe the illegals want more money but they have jobs.. let them stay in Mexico and get it. The Americans who are doing the labor in this country are the same ones that fill the Army and Navy. It is part of the Social Contract, and this is NOT the time to abrogate that contract. |

|
And it is very, very crummy that it is the Democratic Party that is abandoning our labor at this point.

Someone should enforce immigration laws, and if feds dont do it, it was originally asigned to states. How feds got it I dont know. Someone better do something soon. Look what its done to California. The places with more illegal immigration are going downhill and dragging the rest of the nation with them.

1worldgovernent, I dont think they have any intention of enforcing them. They need to drive the middle class down to the bottom so all they have is rich and the very poor cheep labor. Illegals will be helpful for the votes for dems, till they realize after amnesty, that they got screwed too. Now its time to pay up.
