why does wpsd rush to comment ( usually untruthfully) about a non-event and then when something happens like 10-12 helicopters flying in formation twice, at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. out toward usec, then to Reidland, back to the airport on Tuesday night , then they don't utter a peep. This really happened. We shouldn't have military helicopters over Paducah. I saw and heard them and know several others who did. I am sure people called the station so why didn't they at least give us a bogus explanation as usual?
really?

I guess it never dawned on you that we live less than an hour from a very large army base which houses several air cav units. They do training exercises all the time, and sometimes the end up over our neck of the woods. Im not saying WPSD isnt one of the most lack-luster news agencies in the country, but I don't need a breaking news bulletin every time a UH60's flight plan comes over my house.

yea, it seems to me that there are always a lot of helicopters just going around and around in circles in the sky and it looks like theyre just killing time and wasting fuel but i kinda always thought they were just spying collecting information and being a general nuisance..

Those helicopters are doing training exercises more than likely for when Martial law is implemented, since the N.D.A.A. bill has been passed it can come at anytime now.

I've lived here for decades and can't count the amount of times I've seen attack helicopters, cargo planes, transport helicopters, and all kinds of other military aircraft flying around. How do you think they are supposed to train if they don't leave the base?

Wpsd news has taken a real left turn lately. I guess its who is staffing the newsroom. First in Stereo, last in HD. There's a new slogan for ya'. You're welcome, Paxton.

What a hoot. We get helicopters flying over all the time. I kinda enjoy seeing them. I've even seen planes refueling in the air. As with Saul, how could they train without flying? By the way, I heard on NPR they are doing a huge drill at Ft. Campbell soon, and it will involve civilian as well as military responders. I'd hate for anyone to get freaked out about it.

They have an iPhone app (that works less than 1/2 the time) so is that their "app channel", or "iChannel"?

Why is usec ALWAYS the turn around spot? WPSD has a comment page but they delete unfavorable comments. One article yesterday had 38 comments. This morning it was reduced to 29. Only the articles criticizing WPSD were deleted. Way to go for a " fair" balanced news channel.

I wish that was the worst thing they did. The Paducah Sun which is of course owned by Paxtons, like the tv station are just as bad with their stupid court news. Who cares if your neigbor stole a pair of socks from Walmart? Podunk for sure.

This is true. Military bases and police departments all over the country have started preparing for martial law lockdown since the bill passed.

NPR there's your first problem yet another state controlled liberal media mouthpiece for our increasingly growing "Big Brother" government. The drill they are going to practice I'm sure is preparing for Martial Law. Go ahead and put clueless and nuts on this. Just because you think that I am doesn't mean what I'm saying is not true and isn't going to happen. The sheep are ripe for the slaughter!
