LORD NOOOOO!!!!! It is an AWFUL place to work!!! I worked there, I stuck with it for close to 7 years. With each store manager that comes (and there has been several), the store keeps getting worse. I would ONLY go back if it was absolutely the last job availability in Paducah.

The store manager is a D bag! I was in there one day and witnessed him cussing an employee. When I said something about it to another employee they just said that it was normal. I won't go back! That's ridiculous that he gets away with that.

Send an email or call corporate.
Then maybe these workers will eventually get a decent manager to work for.
I have heard and seen the same. And I did make a complaint. But they need more complaints to make it valid.

I think people that work there are very rude and snobby. Every time I go in there the girls that work there act like they're better than everyone else because they work there or are better than everybody. They're always rude to me and other people I know while you're shopping. Wanting to rush you. Greeting you like you're bothering them or interrupting their time.

I worked there and the store manager then was a cock. They put you under alot of pressure that ends up making you hate the job. If they just stayed off the workers ass and let them sell then it would be fine. But that is what most sales mangers do and then dont realize they are the ones making the employees tret the ustomers like shit.

I have always been very pleased with the customer service at Dillard's (men's store). The sales people go out of their way to make their customers happy.

You my friend are mistaken. The sales people are not trying to go out of their way to make u happy. They are trying to get you to buy things so they can meet their sales quota and not get a pay cut. Yes honestly they don't care if ur happy. If they don't meet their sales quota multiple times they get fired.
It is to the point where the workers steal sales from each other isn't that sad?!

Dillards is a horrible job choice. It's a fine place to shop, but a lousy place to work. The idea of management is flood with sales floor with associates and let the sharks have at it.The result is usually good for the customer because they get lots of attention, but very frustrating for a hard working person who's biggest obstacle to success is the uneventual selfish co worker.

If you're a nice person who tends to treat your co workers with respect,Dillards is not the place for you.

Well then, by all means, go give it a try!! Find it out for yourself. It's not just meeting sales quotas. Let me give you a scenario from when I worked there; your sales per hour (SPH) is $145. Now you can only count the merchandise that is in the department you work in (women's will not get sales credit for anything but women's clothing). You also have at least 5 or 6 other co-workers in your department also trying to get their SPH on any given weekday. On weekends, triple the number of workers needing your same department sales. Also, during the week the is stock you have to put up 2-3 x's a week. There are markdowns you have to scan and ticket yourself. And there were usually so many that everyone in the department were doing them, sometimes they would take more than one day. After they are ticketed, you ate responsible for putting the merchandise together and properly signing it. You HAD to have a credit card application completed, 1 card app per week. That was MUCH harder than you think, believe me. I did meet the goals but, I seriously struggled. If you did not make your goal for the card, you had to come in 1 or 2 hours early on Saturday for retraining on the card app process (and hope you weren't off that Saturday). These are just some of the crap that you will have to do but, still manage to sell $145/ hr. Oh, and if something is returned that you sold, it comes off your sales.

Another tough dynamic is the massive amount of non sales work. There were many non sales duties to be done ,such as putting away new stock and doing markdowns. The challange is some assosiciates won't do thier share of the non sale duties. Some would just want to wait on customers only and then just stand at the register. The managers for the most didn't seee that the work was evenly spread out, they just wanted those projects done. The sharks learn quickly to let others do the non sales work and only worry sales and sucking up to the managers.

I said many times while I worked at Dillards, those who do the most work at Dillards make the least pay
