I have a full time job. The manager at the store was standing at the door letting the customers know the machines were not working. He said it was everywhere.

maybe the government ran out of money and you are going to have to work for your food. the election is over, so political promises don't mean crap anymore.

the machines not working means the government can keep that money one more day, that's a lot of money with all the people on food stamps.

have you ever though of raising chickens?

go to the river and catch a fish to eat, you'll need to buy a license from the government before you go.

you can shoot a deer but, you need to buy a license and a deer tag,

what's it like to live in a not so rich and abundant country? Like parts of mexico??

You ain't seen nothing yet. Give it a couple of years, the makers are going to say fuck it,the takers are going to be left in the wagon with nobody left pulling it.

No possible way this country can continue on this course. You can tax the evil wealthy 100% of their income so they are "paying their fair share" That might pay the bills for for a year or so, if that.
After that, good luck.

The country has spoken,
GOD help us all.

My husband has a job. I am a stay at home mom and we rely on food stamps. It bothers me when people who don't have to use food stamps looks down on those of us who do. Yes their are people who abuse the system but do judge everyone for a few who are abusing the system.
well well well

Please explain why you do not work and pull your fair share of the weight? Why dont you get a job so you can buy food not rely on handouts? Im just curious, not trying to start a fire but if your able bodied you should not expect the government to feed you and yours. If you get food stamps I'm guessing you get free medical and hud too.

From the Ky Cabinet for Health and Family Services page (the amount of income allowed varies according to family size regarding eligibility):

What are the basic eligibility requirements?

Only U.S. citizens and some legal foreign residents of the United States may receive food benefits.
Work Registration
Anyone in a household who is 16 to 60 years old and can work must register for, look for and accept work. There are some exceptions to this requirement.
A household may have no more than $2,000 in cash and bank account assets. If a member of the household is 60 or older, the household may have no more than $3,000 in resources. Some resources not used to calculate household assets include the dwelling, its contents and personal belongings. Vehicles also are excluded.
The amount of money a household can receive and still be eligible to receive SNAP benefits depends on household size. Money from wages or other payments to any household member is counted as income.
Your household may qualify for deductions from the household's income such as rent, utilities, legally obligated child support paid to someone outside the household and babysitting expenses. If your household includes older or disabled members, you may be able to deduct medical costs.
Proof of income and expenses must be provided to receive deductions. Such proof can be provided with pay stubs, social security letters, rent and utility receipts or savings account statements. The amount of benefits your household will receive is based on household size and income after deductions.

Just consider this... If the chick above gets a job... And her husband works as well, who pays for childcare? Seriously, depending on how many children there are, they could end up paying more than she'd make just to have some stranger abuse their kids. Kudos to you honey for doing the right thing morally and raising your children yourself.
