Given the amount they charge for everything, they should at least be able to hire someone to run the place that has a clue!

When an event is held at the PLEX, the people/person sponsoring the event is solely responsible for the conduct of those attending. That is until a flagrant violation of the law occurs. The people at the PLEX simply lease the space as requested and they're NOT responsible for either escorts or chaperones, this is the sole responsibility of the leaser. If a basketball court is rented for a tournament, the management at the PLEX is in no way responsible for the conduct of those attending unless violation of state or federal law occurs. The "Supervisors" that you see every 30 minutes or so are making sure the signed contract is being adhered to and no damage has occurred to the facility. Same goes for dances, whether they're sponsored by a church, school, etc. So, be warned, if your teenager attends a church event at the PLEX, make sure your "church" has considered this and has the proper chaperones in place to control your kids. As for cost, the event holder is also responsible for admission. The PLEX management rents space for an event, the promoter of that event sets the admission costs.....NOT the PLEX. That being said, if your kid is screwing or selling drugs at the PLEX, then you may want to re-evaluate your skills as a parent and make sure child is properly looked after by the promoting party!

Wow PLEX representative...ure last line directed in poor taste at parents and churches can really cost u. YOU probably need to re-evaluate YOUR professional skills. Thus what seems to be the whole problem in the first place...lawsuits do happen...beware, u are not always free and clear as u think, especially when children are involved. I.E-Penn State . Passing blame is not a valid excuse for negligence...protect children!

In the same breathe u are ripping and slandering YOUR customers-the event planners...NOT professional...maybe u should better screen who hosts events and not just make a buck at the sacrifice of our kids being in danger!

correction, I'm in no way involved with the management of the plex, in ANY capacity. I was simply stating that they are YOUR kids, not the plex's kids. Anytime an event is booked there, a contract is signed....you may want to take the time to read it!

Hey dummy, the reason I know is because I've rented the plex for several events, I KNOW what the rules are...you obviously don't. you' re the kind of person that would drop your kid off at the mall, then expect the mall to watch after them...duh!... Sounds like like you need to polish your parenting skills and stop looking for someone to dump your kids off on. The plex DON'T babysit your uncontollable teenagers, and FYI, neither does the mall. So, now that you know, STOP whining about someone else and take responsibility for your kids, they're a precious gift. Either put your big girl panties on, or man up and get involved in your kids lives, and you should never have to worry about your kids!!!

Get the point yet? They are "your" kids....not the plex's.

The hipp building will give you free daycare if you sign up so you can go get trashed and sleep with hookers while your child is in government care, not a dance holders or a mall security guard.

Good point! If anyone wants to distance theirselves from there kids, this is a viable option....I couldn't agree more!

Maybe you should look up the definition of slander before you use the term unjustly. If its in writing it is considered libel, but since there were no names mentioned and it was a vague reference in general your accusation and threat is inaccurate and weak.

Perhaps the PLEX needs 'more' supervision, regardless of the parents being responsible for their own kids and their actions. Not just a couple of people @ the site for events.

Perhaps...but keep in mind, they run an event center, not a baby-sitting service...besides, if they hire more people to supervise kids, then people couldn't afford to lease space. I doubt anyone is gonna baby-sit for nothing.....just sayin...
