Life is givin' and can be taken, We say "only the strong survive" when we think we made it. But even if i was wrong i knew i belonged to a place called the barrio and stood there strong. You can never understand if you dont put on my shoes that i was willing to die for my barrio and straight out lose. you will say this and that and try to be correct but the fact will remain that i did it for respect! I REST IN PEACE !!!!!!!!!! My Respect and Love...

Hi No Name, Thank you for your genius insight into these teenagers' lives. Whether you live in the area or not, I hope that blanket assumptions are not being made about the youths in our neighborhoods. I work for the after school program that both of these both participated in. They were great students who brought a great deal of life into the program. While their death may have been gang related please make no mistake about the boys. They were not affiliated in any way with any of the local gangs. I know something about wrong place and wrong time, but maybe the focus should be on the community as a whole. Apart from those of us who are devastated by the loss of one of our most loving students, what is everyone in the community doing to make it safer for everyone, apart from b*tching. While it is a naive hope, I still would like to believe that senseless and violent killings can be stopped if we would pull together as whole. The youth that we are raising are our future, and yes I said WE are raising them because it takes a village. We love and miss you every day that passes C.D.

Well as I sit here and read these comments I sometimes wonder why society is the way it is. I ask myself do individual carry compassion in their hearts these days? Why cause everyone has a comment for everyone else problem. Instead we should pray for one another lost instead of wondering if that person was in the wrong place, a gang member and so fourth. I feel for the families that have lost love ones to the one who doesn't have respect for ones life. I know how it is to lose someone you love dearly this past weekend I lost my 14 year cousin, he was murder for no reason and yes maybe one so young should not be out at 1 and 2 in the morning, but this one was out with family in front of there home when someone decided to take his life. He was a good kid and may he soul rest in peace, he is not the only one that I have buried due to being murder all can say God loved him more and it was his time he has no more worries or will have to go through and heartaches life will bring us.some might say if God Loves us so much then why does he allow this. He loves us so much that he allows things to happen to get our attention. I pray that my family real realize that without God we are nothing we need him in our life so that we can lean on his understanding instead of our own. I don't wish bad on the person that took my little cousin life but there are consequences that come with murder you can be forgiven but at the same time what one soe's you will reap..So everyone the best thing for each of us to do is pray for one another. losses. God Bless YOU all....
