Ozark police officer shoots stabbing suspect

I really wish they would bring a dis-interested Party in to do the investigation. I have no idea if it was justified or no, but if we stick with the Christian County Sheriff ofice doing the investigation, we wont ever know.

I really wish idiots would get an "idea" to research things for themselves. Do you know the individuals involved, their history or the number of times 911 has been called to the residence for a disturbance? Do you know the circumstances leading up to the Officer defending himself against a violent person and suspect in a stabbing? You can wish all you want. But I'm confident that the Christian County Sherriff's office will conduct an impartial and fair investigation of the Officer's actions in defending himself against a violent suspect.

The fact that there where multiple calls to the residence for domestic disturbance really bothers me. I'm sure the husband could have been the abused one in the situation, but that's abnormal don't you think?

Most woman who actually attack the abuser in a domestic assault case are not the typical criminal. One would think that the police would view her as a victim, not a violent criminal.

Chill out. Joey Kyle is not persnally conducting the investigation. Trained officers will do that. The news shared a sound bite. Joey's initial impression is not the final determination.

There are plenty of unjustified shootings, this deserves a fair investigation or they may shoot you next if it goes unchecked. Mace, stun guns sound a little more reasonable in this situation but I wasn't there. sounds like the cop in question may have a bit of coward in them goin right to the gun against someone with a knife.

Pepper Spray and Tasers do not always work like they should. Even if someone is exposed to pepper spray it still takes about 4 or 5 seconds for it to take effect. Tasers sometimes do not always make good connections and sometimes they miss and you only get one shot with them. Arizona has a 21 ft rule which means if an aggressive person is coming at you and they are within 21 ft, then you are justified to use deadly force. Not necissarily the case here maybe but a person 21 feet can run at you and stab you before you can draw a weapon and fire. Would you want to defend your self with pepper spray or a taser against someone who is coming at you with a knife. I doubt it. Shut up because you don't know what the hell you are talking about. The officers did what they had to do because im sure they had families they wanted to see that night. I commend them for thier bravery.

If someone came at me.with a knife I would be stuck using the ole dukes cause I don't pack any weaponry. Are police not trained in hand to hand combat ? What situation would mace and tasers be appropriate? Just sayin. If doing confrontational battle with crazies ain't your thing maybe you shouldn't be a cop.

There is a little thing cops use called a use of force spectrum. An officer is able to match or exceed the amount of force they are being met with. IE, if a man has fists up he may not shoot him. He may however go one step up and taser or pepper spray him. Man has knife, it is lethal force if the person acts in any aggressive manner toward the officer. They do not step down the force to a taser or pepper spray. You would be stupid to go "Dukes up" with a person with a knife. If you choose to not carry a weapon then you risk being a victim. Not the cops fault. If you fail to understand what authorizes an officer to use force then maybe you shouldn’t be quarterbacking the situation from a computer and shooting your mouth off. Moron.

Cop bashing facebook page? What the hell are you talking about. Again, I don't hate cops. I hate what they allow themselves to be. They did not join the force to be "the bad guy" but todays para-military police forces have allowed themselves to be morphed into the bad guy role.

I could say that I hope you get shot by a power hungry cop, who thought you had a gun, but it was actually your cell phone, but I won't because that would ignorant. I don't want cops to ever have to kill someone, even though are times that they do. The mental anguish of knowing you took a life, is hard for anyone to deal with espically those in uniform.
