Eddia Mae's place is a total disaster. I don't see how it hasn't been deemed unfit for human habitation! However, she's not the only place in Bath county that looks horrible. There's a place on Stulltown road that looks filthy! It used to look neat and tidy, but now the trailer looks like it's sitting in the middle of a garbage dump!

I just don't understand how anyone can live like a pig. Actually, pigs are cleaner than many people who don't care for their property.

That show on tv about hoarders, well in my opinion most of the homes look like the people who live in them are just to lazy to take out the trash because most of the stuff is trash. A few of the homes really look clean but are just full of stuff. That is what I would call a true hoarder. I remember one show about an older person who just wasn't able to take care of herself. She should have had someone takeing care of her. That show about her should never have been on tv. True hoarders really do have a problem and need professional help. Most of those houses should be on the show "How dirty is your house".lol

Regardless.....It's a shame when people can let their property go to the point that it's disgusting to even drive past it. And yes, much of it in filth and laziness! Too lazy to bag up garbage. Too lazy to clean up or mow a yard. Too lazy to cart off old furniture and junked cars. Disgusting!!!!

You would be surprised to find out who are some of the people that live in filth. I cleaned a house for someone once that had a rental home rented out to a young woman who happened to be a nurse. It was so filthy I had to go outside several times to vomit from the smell & the mess. Animal feces everywhere; so much junk & trash; you couldn't walk anywhere. But found lots of evidence that explained why the home was left in that shape...drug use. So sad and scary that anyone could do that to themselves & to their children & they go to work & put others at risk due to their addictions. I don't think that all homes you see who have "trashy" looking yards are due to being filthy or lazy. I do think some people may either be elderly, disabled or cannot afford to have someone come & clean it up or haul anything off. It would be nice if someone who is able could find out & possibly help those in need.

Compassion wrote: The family with the dummies outside struggle emincely. The mother is disabled, legally blind. The father, I don't really know. BUT they placed the decor out for their small children's enjoyment I would assume. Who cares if they never took it down? It's their yard. Everybody is not as concerned with decor as others. Makes me think of one thing, if your yard looks nice, decorated for each season timely and appropriately, you've got just that... a perfect yard, not neccesarily a perfect life. Maybe they are happy as larks, maybe they are saved in Jesus Name and have a perfect home waiting in heaven. Aman we need to think of other things besides how someone keeps their porch or yard looking .Be a good neighor and go over visit and offer to help if they are handicapped or need a hand .That would be more helpful than being on here talking about it!

I agree! Help the handicapped or elderly people, but don't for others that are just too damn lazy to get off of they're fat asses!! I could make a list of those that are just too lazy, but I would have a harder time coming up with a list of older folks yards in pathetic shape with weeds knee deep and trash scattered from one end to the other! Most are too busy at Wal Mart spending food stamps and welfare checks. Not all, but a larger majority than the working class families. Truly saddening to live in a community with so many people like this.
