Pay and benefits are not competitive with other hospitals. We shouldn't have to pay so much for healthcare that is performed at OMHS! Union would make OMHS listen to its employees!

Your quality of care already stinks, all a union would do is scare the public from using your facility even more. This town already is terrified to use the Owensboro Hospital because people here do not believe you care about your patients.

We don't care. Unhappy employees will give less than expected care. Basics of human resources.

Union! I'm starting a rally as soon as I get my RN cause then I can assess the situation without having an RN verify it!!

Several years ago we had a chance for the hospital to go union and it was voted out. I have since worked in union hospitals and if the union isn't all that good then they really don't benefit the employees. In fact it makes it even harder to get rid of deadbeats. You pay the union dies for nothing in return.

The hospital employees NEVER had a union vote. Employees are not paid for overtime for hours worked over 8 in a day-only for hours over 80 in a two week period.

Nobody made you take a job there. Be happy you have one or better yourself to get a different one. Always wanting what others have instead of getting it for yourself.

Yes, the OMHS employees DID have a vote. And if I'm not mistaken they do pay OT for anything over a 40 hr week.not an 80 hr bi week. I believe that's federal law.

Same here, I worked plenty of OT when I was there. OT is paid for anything over a 40 hour week. Period.

Lame wrote: <quoted text>So obviously you care about yourselves instead of the sick patients? Maybe this isn't the career choice for you. Most of us truly care for our patients. We also have to make a living while doing so. Providing great care and exceeding expectations is motivated by being treated fairly and most of all being heard from administration.

It's a federal law, non-exempt employees (non-salary) are paid time and a half for any time over 40 hours each work week (7 day period). I too have had plenty of OT from OMHS!
