Trial for Murder of Corrine Stoudt

Does anyone have any information on the Murder Trial that is set to start Friday, July 20, 2007 for Calvin Stoudt, charged with the murder of his wife Corrine? Trying very hard to follow this and am praying that he is convicted and, well I won't say what I think the punishment should be, but any information would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like life caught up with Calvin.

Yes it is me, still out here in Texas - Calvin's court date is September 28. His third wife goes on trial in January for some kind of criminal charge.

I know, I found out from a lady about the trial starting on the 28th, was Laura or Patricia #3, I had not heard about her charges, where did you find that? How did you find out about Calvin and did you know who it was? katsismax@att.net

I knew the trial starts the 28th, I have been following up, I did not know the 3rd wife was chared with something, was that Patricia or Laura? How did you find out about this trial for Calvin? Did you know who it was when you saw it? katsismax@att.net

I saw his picture (prison garb)when it first came out earlier this year and mom verified it was Calvin since I never met him when you two were married. Laura is the one coming up on charges. I do Geneaology and that is how I found out about the murder; when I was trying to look up some background on him. JMuphyy590@aol.com

Calvin Stoudt was supposed to go on trial for the murder of Corrine Stoudt 28 September. Does anyone know if the trial did start?

It was reset to October 30, 2007 and now it has been moved to October 23, 2007 for a Pre-Trail Hearing. Probably a plea deal offered, I was hoping Calvin would be arrogant enough to go for a trial with the Death Penalty sitting on the table. Coward!

Trial was moved to October 30th and then reset now for a Pre-Trial Conference on October 23rd. It all makes me sick, he needs to be sentenced for what he did and for all the crap he has done in the past. Many more victims of his out there folks.

Thanks for the update. I will not rest easy until he is behind bars for life w/o possibility for parole. I hope his lawyer does not find some loop hole that he can wriggle through. All his victims deserve better. Corrine, who paid the ultimate price, should have some justice. Do you know if this Pre Trial Conference is open to the public?

when is the trial for calvin stoudt? I used to work with corrine in spfld, il. She was such a nice person.

I do not know if the Pre-Trial is open to the public, in California it would be, but I do not know what the Court rules are in Kentucky. Maureen, if a plea bargain is reached at the Pre-Trial, which is usually why a Pre-trial gets set, there will be no Jury Trial. If no plea is entered then the case will proceed with a new Trial date. The original trial date was to be 10/30/07 and then this Pre-Trial came up, which leads me to believe they are looking at offering a plea-bargain, I hope not, I could be wrong, but I know Calvin all too well and he will try to save himself if he can, he will NEVER face up to and pay for the things he has done to people. He is definately going to try anything to save himself from a death penalty and given his lifestyle, life in Prison would be something he would look forward to. Well I could go on forever about what should be done with him, but I won't bore you with that. I too hope we all see justice served.

Just thought I would let everyone know that apparantly Calvin has decided to take his chances with a Trial. Jury Trial is set for 3/17/08 now. Well lets see what happens, I am sure it will be postponed a couple more times. Hope everyone is doing well

Someone told me that Calvin's lawyer got sick-cancer they said-and a new attorney had to be appointed for Calvin, therefore they were basically starting over. How many more twists will this case take? Is it true that the longer time between a crime and the trial means a lighter sentence? If a new trial date is already set, then a new lawyer must have been appointed quickly. I am thankful for that news!

I had not heard that, thanks for the update, I am worried that the longer it takes to get to trial, it will fade from peoples minds the horror of the whole thing. I am sure Calvin and his lawyers are banking on this too. So did Calvin find another lawyer willing to take him pro-bono? I can't believe anyone would defend the likes of him, let alone do it for free! He sure knows how to take from people. God forgive me and everyone on this site, but I have a hard time saying I feel sorry about Cher Eaves, his first attorney, getting sick. I know that is wrong and I will work on the feeling.

Friedndly, how do you know Calvin?

I guess the court appointed another lawyer. I believe they take pro bono cases on a revolving basis. I am sorry, I do not know who the present attorney is that drew the "unlucky straw." Let us hope it is not one who is determined to get him off.

I met him through a mutual aquaintance. It took awhile for me to see that he was not what he tried to appear to be, on the surface. I came to believe that he is a sociopath. He 'borrows' the identity he sees in others that would have the most appeal to the greatest number of people.

I am sick at the thought of so many delays in bringing him to trial. I,too,am afraid the horror of what he did will be watered down by time.

Yes sciopath is a good start, and I see what you are saying about bowwowing the identity from others, guess that is what he did with me. I wish I could testify, could someway be there to make people understand the horror that is Calvin. People must not be allowed to let this die down, this is just one of the many evils he has left in his wake. Please, everyone stay in touch on this. If you are in Owensboro and have any chance to keep the word going, do it. This guy can sure get help from people, free lawyers, sympathy from churches, oh I could go on and on but I have made myself sick enough the past few months with this man, I believe me, I use the term man VERY LIGHTLY! Stay in touch and whatever you or anyone else does, as far as you can control, STAY AWAY FROM CALVIN.
