Where in Owasso is this going to be built? Owasso is a big town geographically.
Might be helpful to mention the nearest intersection or landmark or show it on a map. Thanks

I'm only guessing because the writer of this story neglected in giving the approximate area...... either Doc Soc's property off of 76th street north east of town; or between Owasso and highway 75, south of 76th street north. Anyone got a better guess?

Well they're comparing it to Southern Hills... if it's gonna be like Southern Hills then I just have to say "who cares"... no one will be able to sniff the grass much less play it. I love how they talk like any old Joe can come on in to Tulsa and play SH.

Stone Canyon Borders:
Northern Border: 76th St N Southern Border: 46th St N
Western Border: 161st E Ave Eastern Border: 193rd E Ave

Here's a link to their website: http://www.stonecanyonliving.com

Clay....I completely agree with you. My guess it'll be more like Forest Ridge in BA, or at least that is the level I'm hoping it to be.

I also like the location being south of Owasso. There's a lot more area there for future growth.

What about Bailey Ranch Golf Course, and The Greens? Do we really need another golf course in Owasso?

Most golf courses cater to different levels of income from the people that play them.

The Greens is a great course for someone that plays a lot because they can get a membership to play unlimited golf for around $200 a month.

Bailey Ranch is an affordable golf course for people who play occasionally and also a great place to have tournaments hosted from.

Where as this new course will be upscale much like Forest Ridge catering to the people that buy homes there or willing to pay $75 or more to play a round of golf there.

Obviously I'm a golfer and IMO there could never be too many golf courses.

Bits of this course can be seen from 46th street about a mile and a half to the west of 193rd St. It's a fantastic course built on the cliffs (yes i mean cliffs, some up to 140 ft) and along the marshland that is visible just to the north of 46th street. This course will be BETTER than southern hills, with much less of "country club" atmosphere. It will be the best golf in Oklahoma with the exception of maybe Oak Tree and Karsten Creek. Very under wraps right now.

Im guessing it will be approx. where all those mining places are on the east side of 169. There are some pretty big cliffs and stuff through there. That would be definatly something different and would love to play there to see it.

Yeah The Patriot will be on a completely different level than Bailey and the Greens. One article claimed the course would be "epic."

The Patriot may be a great golf course with all the beautiful views and what not, but it will take a very, very long time to earn level of respect Southern Hills has.

if it is possible for the patriot to get a little national attention, maybe the guys from Golf Digest get a chance to play it. who knows, with one of the best design teams in the world, she might get ranked. Southern Hills is moving down in rank with all these new courses built with unlimited budgets.

Stone Canyon is also going to be a huge housing division and rumor has it there will also be a mall and some sort of water park? Just what I've heard.

The architect was under Robert Trent Jones II...

His name is J Blasi and his first, and previous, course was Chambers Bay in Tacoma, WA. This course was just awarded the 2010 US Am and the 2015 US Open. This course will be of equal caliber, but different environment. I promise you it will be appreciated on a national scale and be in the Golf Digest's top 10 modern new courses.

As far as the development, it will be able to support 10,000 people within it's gates. The largest planned community in the nation. Tulsa is lucky to have this..

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Gemini

It's easy to become distracted and confused because your mind is wandering about in all sorts of different directions. You're also in a highly impressionable state so will believe almost anything you're told now, whether it's true or a total flight of fancy. Be wary of muddling others by only telling them half the story or letting your imagination fill in any gaps.
