moving to kansas city

There is no where like KC, I have lived all over the U.S. and Asia and Central America. I miss KC so bad, it will forever hold a special place in my heart.

I lived near the Kansas City metro area for over 20 years, and you could never pay me to move back there again. To each their own!

i do wonder though, why you frequent the topix forum in o.p. kansas if you are so glad to gone. this strand, in particular, is ridiculously old, so why do you care?

I agree, the best schools and places to live are on the outs of KC. But Mike missed one... Lee's Summit! It is one of the best communities, with the best schools in the state.

They obviously had to move because something happened here to them.
Sad, and bitter.
I have lived in over 20 states and honestly I really enjoy the KC area.
It is becoming well stocked with current and relevant things to go and do and see.

Just don't move to Mansfield, it's way too far to be listed in a Kansas City area forum and would be quite a waste of time. I prefer the Riss Lake community in Platte County where my chess club meets.

This is a prime example of what happens when a city grows too fast at any cost. Quality of life begins to decline, especially when the city commission caters to the developers and approves almost every new development.

I agree wholeheartly with you , they forget they are supposed to represent us the citizens of the county not the developers, of course the developers pay them under the table for there cut.

Actually they pay someone to check and see if their ass is still white.

I moved from Independence,Mo to Houston, TX last year, we lived in Indep. but were in K.C. school districts, if you can stay out of KC, mo and KS school districts you will be ok, as far as living try to stay on the MO side, taxes are alot cheaper, as long as you are not in Lees Summit. Liberty, E. Independence, Grain Valley, Blue Springs all are nice places to live.

I wish Topix worked better, this topic does not show up on my queue when new posts are made anymore...
