Animal Rights

I am in favor of seeing our city become one with humane actions toward our animals. Recently our police chief decided that shooting to kill strays, was the 'correct thing to do'. Please read the "Penal Code in the State of Texas,(Sec 42.092) Cruelty to NonLivestock Animals.
Since shooting animals is illegal, why would the city's chief law enforcement officer be leading the way by setting this example?

Could it be because he gets away with it ?

How long will ignorant people let this man hide behind his badge before they do something? He has broke the law and he should be treated the same as everyone else! He also told another lady in Winters if the animals did not have collars, he would shoot them too, WOW, he must feel like such a big man with his gun!

I am appauled over reading your statement. What kind of person does something like that?? I think It sure makes him look bad and what an example he is setting for all the juvenile delinquents we have running around this town. Lead by example!!!! I am contacting the Humane Society!!

I have contacted The Texas Humane Legislative Network (THLN), out of Dallas. They are supporting measures to prevent this from happening in the future.
Also, hopefully with all of the discussion that has existed over the past 6 weeks, I hope that Chief Johnson has learned a lesson. If not, I am sure he will

Wow when I was there we only shot aggresive animal fixing to attack us lol since I was the euthanasia tech I was certified to put them down what a guy lmao
