What a joke this is. I voted YES twice and it counted as a NO vote. Good Gag to make it look like the taxpayers think the school should stay open.

Deer Park is an educational jewel that serves its children and community well. If those with a vested interest think that closing this institution would save them tax $$, think again. You would pay higher taxes to another school district if Deer Park desolved. Look beyond the money. The children who continue to be educated at Deer Park School are tomorrows leaders, and that is worth the investment!

Deer Park is a wonderful school and has wonderful teachers who care. Instead of worrying about money, please worry about your children's future and education. Not many children in the educational world have the teacher to student ratio that Deer Park has and our school report card show that year after year. The repairs that ae being made to the school are manditory and much needed. These are repairs that should have been done years ago but were overlooked. Please allow our school to stay open and our children to keep succeeding.

The School Board is at it again!(The other form created by angryottawataxpayer) Fixing mistakes and poor planing of the last School Board. The new School Board is forced to FIX what is broken.

"I have never said the school should be closed. I am pro-education believe it or not! I am not pro-spending, however. In these economic times for a board to approve a budget increase of 20% is reckless and irresponsible. And then to seek a life/safety bond for 1.6 million on top of that? If Koos and the board spent as much time figuring out ways to save money instead of spending it, we would all be better off.
I understand your passion about kids receiving a quality education; I am equally passionate about my children's educational experience, and would like to be able to continue to afford them every opportunity I can give them.
P.S. I don't smoke, drink coffee, or eat out. Any other suggestions on how I can save money to foot the bill for this latest potential increase?"

(Notice he does not smoke, or drink coffee, but what about Chew and alcohol?)

OK, you never said that Deer Park School should be closed, but actions speak louder than words...The pole “Should Deer Park Grade School be closed?” was created by YOU.

Just go ahead and put a FOR SALE sign in your front yard, pay higher taxes in the next town, ENJOY.

NICE GAG, you act like the people that are for Deer Park School set you up. Look at who created this POLE!

Just to let you know, you can get on this site and vote one time each day. What kind of survey is that??? Not real accurate. I wonder how many times the "Angry One" has voted?? Please be glad your children are in school and the teachers are not on strike and enjoy your low taxes. There are worse things people are going through in life, like the Strike in Ottawa, people have Cancer, other people are "really" struggling because of the economy. Be thankful you have a great school and low taxes.

The Chicago Tribune just announce the ranking of schools based on ISAT test scores, Deer Park was #1 out of 44 schools in LaSalle County for the last 2 years and ranked in the top 3% out of 3,665 school in the state. It's amazing to me that people would want a PUBLIC school that has scores that high and one of the lowest tsx rates in the STATE to be closed!
