Good chance the contracted bus service will stop rolling on Tuesday or Wednesday. Drivers need a pay raise too right?(just like overpaid and underworked teachers) so we get a possible bus drive strike.
Remember when lots of people were screaming for 308 to contract all its busing? It will save the district money! Now the district has no say in what happens with the bus drives for a sig. portion of the schools! I hope the other parents have a plan for get their kids transported. Star the carpooling! |

Any new updates on the strike situation?

Gosh, don't tell me that the parents might have to take resposibility for getting their little budles of joy to school?
Where will it end? What next, will they have to pack them a lunch too? Oh the humanity of it all. |

My son asked his bus driver if she was going to strike and she said it'll never happen.

some of us parents work for a living and can't get the kids to school we count on the schools bus drivers. I took my child to school for many years and now that I am working days not nights, they may strike, seriously, they have jobs and they should be happy with what they are getting. there are so many people out there that would love to make what they are or to just have a job, don't be so greedy bus drivers. |

Agreement reached yesterday, no threat of strike anymore.

Thats good news. Now parents won't have to worry about taking care of their own children.
Wow what an original idea. If you are going to have the kids why not be resposible enough to get them to school? |
||||
DO you have kids do you work, that is why we need the bus system we work and they get our kids to school. I have been responsible for 14 years I worked nights to be there for my kids and take them to school while they were small, now they are in High school and can get themselves up and ready in the morning, I rely on the bus system, sorry but some of us need to work to support our families. It sounds to me like Geno has all the time in the world for his kids do you even have any, do you even take care of them, support them or are you just running your mouth. either way I am thankful for no strike the bus drivers do a good job,and I know a few of them, they get paid pretty good. |
||||
Don't worry the rest of us will make sure YOUR kids continue to get a ride to school. You apparently never imagined that this could be your responsibility. What if there was no free bus ride to school???? |
||||
Geno don't you realize that these folks feel entitled to their kids getting a ride on a bus to school. When they were creaying these kids they never gave a thought to the fact that they are ultimately responsible for their kids schooling. No it falls on you and me to make sure THEIR kids get to school. They have to go to work, we get to take care that their kids get to school. Yes, that is fairness and justice in the USA. I just hope we don't have to pay for their kids weddings. |

Judged:
1 I don't know that anyone is attempting to duck responsibility for their children. According to your logic, parents shouldn't be concerned if the teachers teach, doctors practice, or the city workers pave the roads. I mean after all, YOU will being getting that done for everyone elses kids right? I don't know anyone who things bus service is an entitlement, however, 308 and nearly ever other school district in the nation provide some type of bus service because it makes sense to have a reasonable and safe way to transport children to and from school. School districts and most reasonable people across the country know and understand while each child is the responsibility of the parent, the communities as a whole benefit from reliable bus service that allows the parents of families in communities to work. You speak of fair and just in the USA? Get a grip. How about contributing something substantial to the discussion instead of trying to play the martyr role? |

Geno-
there are not now and never have been "free bus rides" . the citizens pay taxes to the school district which fund both the payroll for the in house drivers and the contract for those routs that are farmed out. Did you missed civics lessons in high school? Missed the bus perhaps? |
||||
No, smart guy. I walked to school. Not everyone requires the government in every aspect of their life, or someone else to pay for their free ride. Good luck. |

Get over it Francis,oh... I'm sorry I mean Geno.Stop your nonsense.Parents have to work and kids have to get to school.Unfortunately, somebody's wasted tax dollars paid for your education.I suppose in your day, you walked 10 miles to school trudging through 3 feet of snow...right.You poor baby my heart bleeds for you - NOT!Taxes pay for everyone's education and busing, including their children and so on and so on.So if you don't like the system go live on an island by yourself..PLEASE!Personally it's too bad the taxpayers from your day couldn't get a refund.Have a wonderful afternoon.
One last thing I'd like to leave you with.......... The wheels on the bus go round and round. round and round. round and round. The wheels on the bus go round and round, all through the town!] |

Golly gee you are really funny. Did you learn that in school? I take it you ride the short bus? Have a nice life. |
||||
If you did not read my post correctly I know it is my responsibility, I have always taken care of my children so f-you, I am responsible forgive me for working in order to take care of my family I probably do more than you do. Do you work to support your family? I have for 12 years on nights to be there and I got laid off and had to take aday job, maybe I should have stayed on unemployment and been alazy good for nothing and just let the state take care of me sorry I have more values thatn that. |

Thank you get your mind right, I am glad others understand |
