why is Oswego so racist?

I've lived in this town for over 2 years.
I can't believe the level of racism in this town,It's worse than some of the big cities i've been to.
I work as a security consultant teaching store how to reduce shoplifting.
I can honestly say that most shoplifting in and around the chicago area is done by mostly young,white, males between the ages of 16-28.
Yet some of the racism complaints are aimed at the "minorities" stealing or being dis-honest.
People here also complain about the mexicans "coming" and shopping at oswego stores. Are you serious?
Many on here say "if only they would come here legally" or "they should learn to speak the language" but if you notice, a racist makes his judgement WAY before he talks to them,usually based on their skin color or mannerisms. That is why pre-judging is "prejudicing"

i'd like to know how a town like oswego expects to thrive when ignorant people are ruining this place.

If we are coming off racist because we are tired of all the people who do not speak english or the ones who are not legal, come on, I do try to talk to these people, you try to say hi or excuse me they look at you like you are the stupid one because they do not understand english, or the people who have to have there 5 year old child speak for them, those are th people I personally am talking about if your child speaks english and you don't that is a problem, and maybe I am a bit judgememtal, but it is very annoying that most of these people are collecting welfare, and getting free healthcare, and food stamps, and we the citizens no matter what race, the citizens are paying for it. I am entilted to my opinions, and I know I can't do anything about the siuation so I deal and if I want to vent on these threads then that is how I will vent at least I am not breaking any laws, unlike the illegal non english speaking law breakers.

Ok I'd like to vent. It's not only the illegals who are on welfare. And so frickin' what if they are. Until this administration, this country has been led by the white man!!! It's the white men in office who are constantly being sent to prison for stealing money from us taxpayers. They have their own frickin' welfare going on. They're just getting a lot more money out of it. White man = greed!!!!

And you all are constantly talking about Aurora. What color is the mayor of Aurora? Black? No. Hispanic? No. White. They frickin' ran the city into the ground. They LET the gangs take over and ruin the city.

So frickin' what if someone doesn't speak English. It sucks for them because they won't know when they are getting screwed by the white man. I thought this was a free country? They should be free to speak whatever the heck language they like. That's whats so friggin beautiful about our country. It's a free country. Isn't that what we fight for? Freedom? Is it a law that everyone has to speak English? I know it'd sure as heck make life easier, but it isn't a crime to not know the language.

I feel really bad for all the kids who have to grow up with all this racism. You'd think people would be more open minded by now.

Not every hispanic person you see is illegal. I'm sure you can't tell the difference between a Puerto Rican and a Mexican can you? Puerto Rican's aren't illegal. Did you know that? Does it matter? It probably only matters that they are Hispanic and are not wanted in Oswego. You want to complain about them coming to Oswego? Talk to the white man because I guarantee you they were white men selling off their land to make a profit. They didn't care about their little racist town. They wanted to make money. So don't hate on the mexicans for moving in. Hate on the white man for not caring who they sold to. Who knew mexicans could afford to buy a decent house??

It makes me sick to my stomach the way people think. So what if you have to press 1 for english or 2 for spanish. Big whip. I am more mad that I have to dial 1 or 2 instead of speaking to someone live. That's what makes me a bit upset. I don't want to listen to an automated white voice.

I believe if you check into the percentages of races locked up vs. their total population on the country you will find out that illegals from Mexico are locked up in far greater percentage relative to their population then are whites.

I dont care how hard they work here if its mexicans, polish, chinese etc..... they are here illegally and reap the programs we support.... it sounds like you and me are second generation americans, my grand parents came here from europe.... At my kids' OSWEGO grade school, every single year for the past 4 years, the class trouble-makers have been the Hispanic and black kids from AURORA who somehow get to go to Oswego schools. The teachers/principal don't follow through with disciplinary measures because, oh dear, they'd be accused of being racist so these little a-holes continue to be nasty and distracting to the rest of the children.

(and YES - I do know for a fact these kids - 2 girls who are cousins (yes - GIRL trouble makers) and 2 other boys DO live in Aurora and are not within the district 308 boundary.)

Although I do feel that all immigrants should follow the proper channels and not come here and live and sponge off our goverment when they are not legal US Citizens, I think the racism I've seen on this forum is unbelieveable. I was floored when I saw some Oswego residents complaining that the "mexican's" were coming to "their" parks and shopping in "their" stores. Anyone from any town/state can go shop anywhere they choose. That is their constitutional right! I had a friend recently make a comment about what "class" people are, rather than what race, that really makes a difference in how they act. She was right.

The racists in Oswego are low-class in their behavior, regardless of their race, nation of origin, or salary. They will destroy their own town with their hate.
