My fiance went to this store to look for a dress. She told the owner of the store that her budget was under $200. My fiance doesnt know however that I'm paying for the dress and my budget is much higher. The owner of the store actually told my fiance "If it's not in your budget, then I really can't let you try it on". She was trying to pry my fiances budget out of her as soon as she came into the store before she even had a chance to ask other questions. When I called the store to confront the owner about this, because my fiance was in tears, she said that if my fiance was serious about buying a dress she would have let her try on many of them. I asked her "well it is her wedding, its not something that happens all the time, so yeah..she's serious". I have enough money to buy her an expensive dress if she wants one. She's going to get the dress she feels is the nicest, even if it costs me an arm and a leg.
I wont be purchasing it from this store however. You don't treat anyone like that. The owner was worried about the wear and tear on the dress if they let people try it on. "but wait, you just told me if she had been serious about buying it, and it was in her budget, youd let her try on 50 dresses if she wanted to" If you're concerned about wear and tear, and want to keep customers, then you let your customers try on replica/display models. It doesn't surprise me that they couldn't afford to have display only models if this is how they treat their customers. I took her to the wedding dress shop over off 2nd in the same plaza center as Sav-a-lot and the women there were wonderful. They let my fiance try on several dresses and treated her like she -should- be treated. you'd think in a small community like this, business owners would have some idea on how to treat the customer. Honestly? even if the dress weren't in her budget, she should have let her try it on anyway. This isn't Malibu, it's Alpena. That stuck up shopkeeper attitude doesn't belong in this community. |

This is terrible but not surprising. I am in the wedding business and have dealt with many brides that have had terrible experiences with The Wedding Shop. They are rude and terribly unprofessional. I would never send anyone there.
