Please see the first response on this thread. The topix user starting this thread was seeking information on bothe Lakewood Shores and the Villages of Oscoda. Why is it that you Lakewood Shores owners perceive yourselves as better than everyone else and the mention of another development with a HOA is off limits for discussion?
We Lakewood Shores people DON'T think we're better than anyone else. A question was asked and it was answered by folks who live there, and are experiencing life there. If you don't want an honest answer, why bother asking the question? Lakewood shores just happens to be a much better place to live than the Villages, for there are far less rediculous rules to follow, and we live in our homes as homeowners want and expect to live, not as c0-owners at the villages in homes that are run by others. WE are not told we cannot put a for sale, for rent, or for any other matter sign out. WE are not told what color we can or cannot paint our homes, and WE can choose our own decor for the inside or the outside, and a drive through will show you that WE make pretty good choices, and the neighborhood is impeccable and immaculant, without instructions from some board. WE are proud to be Lakewood Shores HOMEOWNERS, not CO-owners. People that choose to live in the Villages live there because they choose to do so. We live in Lakewood Shores because we choose to do so. And as far as property value, there really isn't much difference in the two.

Thank you. I think you stated it very well. I definitely apologize for being incorrect about my perception that Lakewood owners thought too much about themselves.

Funny, but I've heard from quite a few people in the Oscoda area, mostly from owners in the Villages of Oscoda who are fed up with the actions of the Board of Directors and office staff there and who badly want change because rules enforcement and governance in general by the Board and office staff is beyond anything they imagined or wanted. The Villages of Oscoda is a perfect example of why buying and living in development governed by a HOA is a BAD choice!

You must be very happy and satisfied you chose to purchase and live in Lakewood Shores over the Villages of Oscoda.

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Virgo

You're feeling restless and need to introduce as much variety into your day as possible. However, you'll want this to be on your own terms, and you certainly won't like it if plans are changed without your consent or you feel you've lost control of the situation. Try to take everything in your stride, otherwise you'll end up feeling exhausted and frazzled.
