I work in a Cemetery here in northeastern ohio. We have tried many times to get the pink dogwood to grow, but it never seems to survive. I have been told that dogwoods bought here are shipped in from the south (Florida), and therefore will never last more than a couple years. Is that true? Is there somewhere in Ohio that these are grown and would stand a better chance for survival?
