its not the judge; it is his lawyer using legal manuvering and the attempt to pay his way from facing jail time
|

Mario shows no remorse for his actions that caused the accident and the death of a man. He's sorry, but only for the pain he's caused himself. I'm also certain that he still drinks, but then if I had possible jail time over my head, it might serve as an escape from reality.

I can tell that is the truth. His lawyer meets with the judge and SA tomorrow; we will see how much longer this goes on.
He can try to hide all he wants from reality; however it will catch him in the near future. Doesn't matter if he continues to drink, he will find out what probation actually is; pissing in a cup on a weekly basis; fail go back to court this time to face the judge for the full term of the original sentence and the new one of violation of probation which generally produces a small time of 6mo; however since its a DUI conviction he will likely be given a much strong of 1 yr for the voliation alone. I guess all the people that wrote on his behalf really don't know the person they think they are writing for. More so that the advocate for a person when they too betray their faith and principals; They know he is guilty; yet they ignore the faith they hold dear Leviticus 19:15 - Do not pervert justice; do not show partiality to the poor or favoritism to the great, but judge your neighbor fairly. |

I think all the people that wrote on his behalf know him very well. He just made some bad choices..starting in college, which has led him to where he is today.
I think his friends are hoping that he has learned something out of this mess. Hopefully drawing closer to God and walking away from those things that led him to this mess. Who needs alcohol anyway... We can have a great time without it. My friends and I have made a life change and are choosing to enjoy life without it. We don't want to mess up our lives. Life's to short. I think Mario's experience may actually help others to say no to drinking. Look at us. We are saying no.. How about all of you.. Why not join us.. |

If it happened when he went away to college; that means its been since 2003 and
in that time I bet you drifted away as "friends" so again I still stand by my statement you all don't know him as well as you thought. Moreover when it took you all this long to speak up to talk to him about it. I am willing to bet that none of you have actually spoken to him about it, instead are posting on here about how its time to change. So lets look at it from my aspect. In a school that holds no tolerence for Evolution (Lodi Academy) according to their handbook. To have a teacher from that school advocate for no jail time is a crock. More so when it says they hold students accountable to grow as mature responsible adults. Now he is an adult and his actions have escalated to a violent felony, you can not abandon the principals that you are trying to bestow in the youth you teach; otherwise it is a double standard; return to the bible and read Lev: 19 yourself. The punishment according to the law is clear; You are obviously speaking from a bias that you can't see the blantant errors in your statements; As I have said before; It was a saturday just after sundown aka Sabbath for Seventh day; sundown was only 15 minutes prior; with a BAC of 0.152 wasn't an accident; it was a deliberate act clearly thought out hours prior to getting back on the bike, you don't go out somewhere and not know you are going to be drinking and still drive home when your done; More over he was drinking during the sabbath; and has abandoned his faith doing so; it is clearly spelt out in the doctrine of faith on the SDA website. That is a faith and god that isn't his; His indifferences to lives of others is clear. He doesn't care about what he has done instead how it has affected him. This is shown as your christian faith calls you to be truthful; anything less than a guilty plea is a lie; continuing to hide behind a lawyer and justify your a "changed" person is BS on multiple levels. As I said before his injuries are at his hands; using them to justify a sentence that doesn't include jail time is joke; Using is father is just an excuse; more so when he was 10 when it occured; trying to use that as an "rough" childhood is completely wrong on so many levels. It tarnishes his father memory and his mother looks poorly in that manner; as she didn't raise him to be a better christian. So 1 of 2 things occured. 1) you never actually had an "intervention" 2) you never actually knew that it was an issue; I am going with the later vs the lader. As a good friend would have had the intervention; with family and friends. So honestly get a clue; you are doing too little too late. If you wanted to help, you should have had this "intervention" years ago. Meanwhile your attempting to have it after a person is dead at his hands; and you still think you "know" him. I don't see things the way you do; you are not the one with a dead family member at his hands. You are not the one sitting here while he has his family and friends over enjoying "his" time with them; while you sit here with the your family members remains. sitting here while he is telling his so called friends all he is going to get is a little probation. He got to say his goodbyes to his father from a terminal illness; knew well in advance it was going to occur; he robbed us of that. He may have not deliberitly set out to kill someone; however that has little to do with the facts; it was a deliberate act to go out and drink; then drive home; He knew well in advance what the probablity of it occuring were. He didn't just kill a person; He has destoryed what my family on many facets. |

Are you really that ignorant? that god sets out to smite others? Is that the god you know? If so I don't want to know your god; cause by all means he will have a feild day with Mario. Implying god's will on something that is going to destory Mario in more aspects than one is ironic;
You will not know the day or hour that the father has set. Implying otherwise is you attempting to play god yourself. |

You did not answer my question so I then must assume it is true.

"I heard the guy that died was a sex offender is that true? If so then maybe Mario was carrying out Gods Will"
Question- You are a nut. Even if it was supposedly “God’s will” as you say, there is no special allocation in State or Federal law that pardons ones actions because they were working for a divine power. Seriously, to say such a thing to a family member of the deceased is a messed up thing to do. Who cares what acts this guy committed during his life? His life was ended unjustly by the actions of another, and therefore they deserve the applicable punishment. |

Well said

It does not matter if the guy was a sex offender. The man was with his family when he died. The Bible does state "time and unforeseen occurrences befall us all" in Ec. 9:11. So there is no need to accuse God of causing this, because it can happen to anyone, even a "Mother Theresa" (so to speak) but you get my point.
Besides, we don't don't know if this man repented of his sins and asked God to forgive him. God accepts everyone, no matter what their past is. Rather he did or didn't is STILL between him and God. God is the only judge! So let's just let the facts be the facts. He was killed by a drunk driver, PERIOD. The Bible says "what you sow is what you shall also reap." The Bible does not classify types of sowing as far as crimes, but refers to a persons actions. So since people love to post this man was a sex offender, well he reaped what he sowed by being put in jail and being on the sex offender website, PERIOD! Now he was killed by someone sowing (actions). Now that person (Mario) sowed this and Mario will reap what he has sown, even if it means jail time. That is why we have laws for crimes such as this. |

I agree with Little Bird, good point.
I think that if you drink and drive and someone gets killed, you should go to jail and pay the consequences.Period. Mario should go to jail.Period. I pray for peace and healing to all. God Bless |

Whatever the outcome of this accident. I pray for peace and healing to all families involved.
God knows the heart of each individual involved here and that is all that matters. Looks like Mario will have to pay the price of drinking and driving and killing someone in the process. He made a choice and this is the result of the choice he made. I hope and pray that others out there will learn from what has happened here. Praying for peace and healing to all involved |

Does anyone know what is going on with this case?
|
||||
|
The case is delayed until the new year so the judge can review the plea deal.
