Michael, you're an idiot. It costs more to have a hobbie like owning a 4 wheeler or smoking (lets not even go there)than it does to skydive so you go smoke your childs education or go 4 wheeling (which is a far much more fatal sport than skydiving)and leave what you dont understand alone. p.s. enjoy life in your safe little armchair and take up reading or something as your opinions are both illplaced as well as uneducated

I speak from authority. It took me a lifetime to realize that while I spent most of my money on booze and skydiving, I wasted the rest of it.

Regardless of how you feel about skydiving, this man was someone's family/friend. He died and all you can talk about is how stupid it is to jump out of a "perfectly good airplane". This was a good man who loved the sport, a sport you know nothing about. You know a lot of the "crazy people" as you call it are military and have risked or are risking their lives to fight for our country. My husband jumped in the military (a Paratrooper) and served 2 tours in Iraq. I guess I married a crazy! If you have never done something (skydiving) or you clearly know nothing about it keep your opinion to yourself. It isn't about how stupid you think it is to skydive. A man lost his life, a man who who meant so much to so many people. Blue Skies! RIP

MWW wrote: Yes incidents do happens in sports unfortunately an incident in skydiving has a high likely hood in resulting in death. People willing to risk there lives for an adrenaline rush have serious mental issues and should consider seeking psychiatric help. Is your life so boring that you need to jump out of a plane for fun? If your life is that boring maybe you should reevaluate your life. Peace Out To be clear. Most skydive incidents don't end in a fatality. So far it appears he may have lost consciousness in free fall, which could have happened when he was playing soccer. There are other risks in the sport, but jumpers know what they are and weigh it against the experience I participating in a sport that is on the edge of human potential. It's statistically safer than motorcycling and many other sports. There is a better chance you will crash your car on the way to the parachute center than die in your jump. Is it dangerous? Yes. We all have a right to choose the risks we take. And most skydivers will not say they do it for an "adrenaline rush" that's a movie cliche. It's about experiencing and sharing the experience of total freedom and human flight. So, feel free to be cynical and morbid. Those of us who skydive are glad to be alive and in the sport we love.

Please be respectful of things you don't understand. Skydiving is our life and we are very aware of the risks that are involved. Each time we step out of an aircraft we are very aware of what could happen. You my friend, should stay on the ground and get yourself a golf club. Peace, and Blue Skies!!
