UM... let there be 'fast food addiction' with monosodium glutamate used to purposely addict to boxed & unhealthy prepared foods.....and<quoted text>
Actually the angle that merits astonished laughter there is not that there are efforts to make tobacco LESS legal but that tobacco IS a legal product when so much is known about the damage it does--including causing nicotine addiction.
GMO corn syrup addiction (pop, soda, boxed foods) that is very bad and causes unstoppable weight gain....and
let there be the consequences of too much alcohol consumption which is very addictive and self destructive......and
the neurotoxin aspartame and all it's other offshoots addiction which damages your cells & brain function, kidneys, liver etc......
let there be the rat poison and ant poison flouride, which causes docility and brain shrinkage & major stupidity & lower IQ's (proven by major studies. Flouride helps teeth when topically applied ONLY)...
let there be the Pharm industry which includes psych meds that alters brain chemistry, perception and personality and causes unstoppable weight gain and decreased libido (which half the pop is taking to make themselves happy-lol)....and
let there be soy in everything, which also causes major problems and sold to the American public as 'soy is good'. But the truth is, it is the cheapest ingredient to use in manufacturing and that's the only reason why it is used in everything....and
let there be GMO foods which major studies prove that they are very harmful and even 3rd world countries reject the crap but Americans gobble it up & don't care.
All the above is legal, all owned by major corporations, the gov, and major political players that KNOW by major studies that they have hidden and major studies that they ignore, how damaging it all is, but is marketed and sold as good & "healthy".
So, if you are talking risks in a legal product, it's foolish to single out tobacco and make it a whipping post.
I know & have known many people who smoke & have smoked heavily since they were young, till they were in their 90's and none of them were sick from it and none of them were "got sick" and needed medical services any more than a non smoker. Many of them went to a DR. less than a non smoker as a matter of fact.
Scare tactics, fear and "you just might" are used to control behavior that others don't like instead of prohibition which leads to more black markets.
There are risks in everything in life.
To hear it today, even the sun is trying to kill you. Yet, there is only a small segment of the population that ever gets skin cancer.
Do the indigenous peoples who live in the sun at the equator slather on PABA sunblock? NO. Why aren't they all dead by now?
Everything in life has risks.
It's no one elses business in a supposedly free society to dictate to anyone what legal product anyone can or cannot, should or should not ingest. If someone wants to eat 25 twinkies everyday, or drink a 32oz Big Gulp daily, it is none of my business. Or should I go on a crusade to make them do what I want just because I don't like them doing that?
Either make something illegal or they should just shut up and leave people alone. Everyone needs to mind their own business and take care of the hot mess they call their own life instead of busybodying in someone elses life.
