Stop, for God's sake, listening to this kind of crap. People, even ones in poverty, even criminals, no matter who they are, are not animals, and being persuaded out of fear to see them that way deludes you and diminishes us all. This is NOT AN ACCURATE PICTURE OF REALITY. Jeez, you got me yellin' now.
I'VE HAD TO WORK AROUND A SET OF PEOPLE WHO AT BEST WERE THIEVES AND WORSE AT TIMES. I'VE READ 25-30 PAPERS A WEEK FROM NEW JERSEY TO MOBILE, ALA FOR AT LEAST 20 YEARS SO I'VE READ A LOT OF CRIME STORIES. COMPARE THE MORALITY OF THE PEOPLE AS A WHOLE AGAINST THE CULTURE WE HAVE NOW AND THINK OF SOUTTH CENTRAL IN 92.

Please cite your sources for that statement? I mean, I assume you don't have dinner with them and discuss their politics?
And FYI -- to assume that anyone who's a Democrat or self-described liberal absolutely must hold a certain set of value (as incorrectly defined by idiots like Ann Coulter and Rush Limbaugh) and an absolute policy on any given topic (defined ditto) is, at best, simplistic; at worst, f'in' stupid. Big clue to those all caught up in the libs-as-devils crap: simple is tempting but almost never the complete, true picture.
WE HAD LIBERALS/DEMOCRATS WHO DIDN'T WANT TO COUNT THE MILITARY VOTE IN FL IN THE 2000 ELECTION AND THE DEMS AND REPS PASSED A LAW SAYING PEOPLE IN THE MILITARY CAN'T HAVE PLACES TO VOTE WHERE THEY ARE STATIONED. THAT WHEN I LEFT THE DEMS AFTER 35 YEARS. MOST OF THE LIBS/DEMS LIKE TO TAKE OUR FREEDOMS AWAY. GUN CONTROL COMES TO MIND AND BANNING GUNS. WANTING TO MAKE US ACCEPT THINGS WE DON'T LIKE EVEN THOU WE HAVE A RIGHT TO NOT LIKE ABORTION OR GAYS. I DON'T DO OR SAY ANYTHING TO GAY FOLKS BECAUSE I'M NEVER AROUND THEM. ONLY 16% OF THE POPULATION ARE LIBERALS ACCORDING TO ROBERT REICH WHO I LIKE A LOT. HE'S ABOUT AS LIBERAL AS THEY GET. THE TAIL IS WAGGING THE DOG AS IT WERE. >> I MAY HAVE READ ABOUT THE CDC AND IT'S TIES TO THE DRUG INDUSTRY AT DR MERCOLA.COM . IT WAS CONCERN WITH THE NUMBER OF VACCINES THE GOVERNMENT MAKES BABIES TAKE IN A SHORT TIME. MY GRANDSON HAS AUTISM AND HIS BLOOD HAS MERCURY FROM VACCINES AND OTHER HEAVY METALS FROM THE VACCINES. THEY GAVE HIM A HEP B VACCINE LESS THAN TWO HOURS AFTER HE WAS BORN. RESEARCH HAS SHOWN THAT MORE BABIES ARE MADE SICK BY THE SHOT THAN EVER GET HEP B. MERCK GETS A BILLION PLUS DOLLARS EVER YEAR FORM THE HEP B SHOT. AUTISM ONLY SHOW UP ATER THEY STARTED USING A LOT OF MERCURY IN VACCINES. AS FAR AS THE CDC THEY HAVE NO RIGHT TO TRY TO OVERTHROW AND ADMENDMENT TO THE BILL OF RIGHTS. IT'S NOT THEIR HEALTH ISSUE. IT'S A POLITICAL ISSUE. THE CDC NEEEDS TO GET THE CORRUPTION OUT OF IT'S OWN HOUSE.

<quoted text>I was not going to respond to any more posts, but for you, I will make an exception. I said blah, blah, blah in response to your long winded diatribe- it was directed at YOU and not the elderly woman you were going on and on about. I NEVER said her life was worthless or any of the other CRAP you accused me of.
You are a sick and angry individual and every post of yours is just a bunch of ranting and rambling.
You had the BALLS to tell me I'm sicker than the kid who killed 33 people- I say you're a horrible human being to say such a thing to anyone- and all the more simply because of a difference of opinion.
Now- stop twisting my words, and once again- my response of blah, blah, blah was directed at you at not at the woman who was brutally beaten and killed.
Now feel free to get out your beloved arsenal, stroke your guns and go hide in your shelter.
I DON'T HIDE REAL,I GO ANYWHERE IT'S LEGAL TO AND WHEN I WANT.

It sounds to me from the latest reportings that he was a whiny brat because a few girls he was into didn't reciprocate his feelings. There is nothing noble or just about what he did. Get a grip. Everybody has problems; everyone feels unwanted or unloved once in awhile. I hope he enjoys burning in hell, because that is exactly where he is.

Does anyone besides me see a pattern here? And I'm not speaking of the murderer Cho.

Everytime some deranged individual like this, does something like this; it grabs media attention for days, sometimes weeks on end. It certainly deserves it for a few days to let people see that the wheels of justice are in motion. But to have it on every single news channel, all day, everyday with just a nod at regular news, SOME of which can have far more important consequences than this; is simply hysteria.

Two things are happening here. One: regular news that impacts many more people than the VT massacre, is being ignored. That means people are not informed as to what is going on around them. SOME of that info can impact their lives for years to come.

Two, since we as human beings have NOT learned YET to punish the offender and not the victims; we have, taking advantage of the situation like fresh meat, the socialist, liberal gun control advocates and their stringers of p.c. speech that advocate more and more restricting or eliminating our personal freedoms--JUST because someone else abused the privledge.

Go figure. You have those who thoughtlessly advocate gun control as only certain people may have guns. It is one thing not to give one to someone with a history of mental illness or lawlessness and quite another to deprive the entire population of a right.

People it has gone so far as to jail LAW ENFORCEMENT officers who accidentally forget to disarm before entering the D.C. area (except obviously the D.C. police force!) Has anyone bothered to consider the possibility of a government gone completely corrupt, as some south of our own border have done? Has anyone bothered to think what would happen if some enemy from abroad finally realized that we as a nation 'have our pants down' and feel that the time is ripe for an invasion of our country? Something has gone terribly wrong when we will not even defend ourselves. We have been BRAINWASHED; and THAT from elementary school till college.

Also, look at the increased restriction on free speech. It's not getting better, but MORE restricting. You can't say this or people will totally ignore you; you may get sued because someone is offended.

What ever happened to being able to think for oneself and being able to distinguish between good reason and poor judgement? To keep the good and disregard the bad.

This is not even ADDRESSING profiling. Many in their concern for another incident like this never to happen again advocate profiling. Having a RECORD of mental health problems is one thing; profiling a person because they do not match what you call normal is another.
I think the staff is wise in considering this.

After Columbine there was in some public schools in our area a hysteria surrounding anyone who was quiet, shy, a loner, maybe not the friendliest individual in the world and liking to dress in a trenchcoat because it was neat and practical under the circumstances. Yeah, maybe poor judgement on the part of the individual; but if you don't think people care about you to begin with, why should that cross your mind? Innocent people were shunned and feared simply because they LOOKED like the individuals that perpetrated that vile act at Columbine.

If we are truly the adults we claim to be, we need to think about these things; not jump on the bandwagon and allow others to do that thinking for us.

(con't) People if you don't inform yourself of the RIGHTS of the constitution that men and women fought to preserve in this country, and if you don't THINK on how to apply proposed new laws without restriction of your rights, you will find yourself without those freedoms.

If you even want a prosperous way of life that your forefathers had; you'd better care. Freedom comes with a price and that premium must be paid by every generation in vigilance. If you don't, you may very well find yourselves in the unfortunate positions of past nations that you study about.
