I've been to Gainesville but I'm no Gator fan (go Knights!)
I can't say I know much about KKK events here. Wesley Snipes called Ocala a "hotbed" for Ku Klux Klan activity. Although he was trying to get his trial for tax-evasion moved.

Don't you think that you're putting the cart before the horse here?
Life was able to evolve here because the conditions were as they were, and not the other way around.
Also, conditions on the earth haven't always been conducive to life as we know it today - if we had conditions the way they were billions of years ago, current-day life would not be able to exist.
Unless, of course, you believe that the earth was created in 4000 BC or thereabouts.
So-called 'Intelligent Design' isn't a scientific position to take - it's a religious one used to divert the criticism away from creationism. To teach religion in a science class is a complete negation of what education should be about. Leave that to the churches or comparative religion classes.

Finally got a free moment to respond...

Kevin Wyld...

Whether I put the Cart before the horse or not, at least I don't have the Cart turning into the horse....

Again, when you base your entire model on the exception-evolution through mutation-you step away from science and enter into the world of fantasy.

My world view is built on the Norm, and I believe my arguments are presented by nature itself...

Have a Great Christmas...

Evolution through mutation is FACT.

Deny it all ouy like, but all it shows is your incredible ability to deny reality.

Happy Pagan Winter Festival co-opted by the Church!

I believe your position on evolution, mutation, and fantasy-upward development is the result of a chemical imbalance in your brain, or possibly a structural disfiguring in the reasoning chambers of your thought processor. This may be corrected with maturity, experience, and thought evolution. Open your mind...it is a beautiful world.

The fact that you are posting here is enough proof there is no Intelligent Designer.

If you really want to see sparks come to the final public hearing on the proposed science standards tomorrow. I'll be there to give my three minutes.

The main problem with religion is that they almost all try to stuff it down our throats and they consider conversion of others to their beliefs to be what they are supposed to do. I don't care what they believe but they obviously care what others believe or they wouldn't be trying to change everyone. I do know they are pushy . Have you ever seen an evolution-believing scientist having nerve enough to knock at your door to make you believe their version of the "truth" ? I have never even considered going door-to-door trying to convert them to Evolution ! At least science is based on research and common sense...it irritates me no end to have people telling me that only they know the 'truth' and that I am wrong in what I think....at least I THINK, not just follow some idiot who wants a church full of sheep to worship him !

Some people really should buy a dictionary instead of a bible.
Evolution is a theory based off evidence. Religion, well, sadly, those who believe it are so delusional they'll never see the outstanding flaws.
All science changes. For crying out loud, pick up a real history book for once. You know, you religious people used to believe the sun revolved around the planet and that the Earth was flat. You used to also believe that blacks were an inferior race and that woman couldn't survive without a "man" to take care of them. So either go back to following your bible the way it was intended, or grow up.
You can believe your religion, but remember, that's YOUR belief. This is a mind-shattering concept. You have your belief, the rest of the world trusts science. Get over it. Otherwise, let's go kill all the Muslims, Hindu's, Protestant, Baptist, Presbyterians, Sikh's, Native Americans, Eskimos, and any of the MANY other religions I left out. So again, who's right? Because if we're going to revert this country to the black ages, I vote for Buddhism! I want the official religion to be be Buddhism.
*sigh* Alas, at least with science, we can repeat it over and over again and come to the same conclusion. That's what we call scientific fact. Theory, as you'll find out if you ever bother reading a dictionary and learning something, is not a fact. It's just a theory, meaning it's the most logical conclusion before it becomes fact. Heck, the "law" of gravity isn't even a law. Newton's Las was disbanded by Einstein, and even he recognized there were some unknowns to it.
Which, surprising, is where religion steps in. It tries to fill in the unknown with simple, pretty answers. Science is about finding the answers, whether they're pretty or not. Problem is, unlike religion, scientific answers are not always easy and convenient to come by. It's going to be a long long time before the theory of evolution is fully understand.
Long live the Flying Spaghetti Monster!!!!!
