While it is true that whites receive more total handout services than blacks, as related to the percentage of the overall population that they represent, blacks have by far the highest crime rates AND the highest use of handout programs of all kinds. Do not presume to tell me that the penal system works and that it is a good thing when you punish someone for something and then hold it over their head the rest of their life. You can not say that it works when you have repeat offenders, because you create the repeater by what you do to their liberties. I can see not giving them their rights back all at once but to hold them forever only makes it more of a reason to go back because you make it so hard to live a life. What do you expect? Your language reveals your character. I bet you're another creepy criminal wanting to buy a gun, aren't you? How does not owning a gun keep you from being successful???? You don't need a gun for most occupations, and convicted felons wouldn't be considered for those that do require a gun. This is just one more excuse for criminals to use to explain their unwillingness to obey the law. The penal system doesn't work because it is way too lenient. Prison should be the worst imaginable experience so that losers would decide to play by the rules rather than go back there. There should be no TV, no recreation, no ability to buy junk food, NOTHING that is pleasant in any way. Prisoners should spend 12 hours a day digging a hole and filling it back up, then be confined to their cell with no amenities for the other 12 hours. Bet there'd be fewer frequent flyers!

I'm not in the least afraid. I am not a felon and I own a gun, and know how to use it. If some criminal decides to come into my house, he won't be leaving alive. And no, I haven't made any bad choices that landed me in jail or with a felony record. Believe it or not, some people obey the law and go their whole lives without being arrested. Some people do not do the crime and is found guilty of it by a jugde most have attorneies that work with the state attorney office not stand up for there People Like me i did not do the crime the police said i did i said no to the crime so many time my throt got sore. the cop got money i left for a friend not him and said i paid him that is B.S. they sent me to prison on a plead deal that i sign out of fear the state attorney was in the back as i told my attorney no to the deal and got all over me making me worry i told the judge no i did not sign it of my on free will. i never sign it of my own free will and the law says it has to be of my own free will.

One does not have to be perfect in order to stay on the right side of the law. Oh, and a felony is not a "mistake". A felony is a CONSCIOUS CHOICE to break a law, hoping you won't get caught. Everything in Florida is a Felony. 15 years ago, I became a convicted felon. Nobody gave me a chance, so I decided to "make" my own chance and start my own business.
I now have 5 employees who are ALL ex-felons. In fact, that is a requirement of working for me. All of these employees are loyal to me, and appreciate the chance I have given them.
No, not a lawn service, or roofing company. I am a window installation contractor, and my lowest paid employee makes $39,000 per year with 100% medical insurance paid by my company.
I must say, that when you run an ad in the paper looking for employees who HAVE been convicted of a felony, you just gotta love the resonses you get from the cry-babies who are "felonless", and claim "discrimination".... ...Priceless...
For those people who think they are somehow better then others who have made mistakes in their lives, and feel the need to judge them based on a felony is utterly stupid, and short-sided.

Oops,... I almost forgot. Where is it said when your sentenced by a judge that you should be subject to NOT being afforded the right to protect youself, or your family?

When you have completed the sentence the judge imposed for your felony,... probation, work hours, or prison,...whatever,...it's over.

Actually, it's not. Many states have laws stating that anyone convicted of a felony can NEVER legally own a gun, as it should be. Oh, and please post the name of your company. I would certainly NEVER want to hire a company of criminals to work in my home.
