Yep--here in Florida there is a saying: Darin the swamp and plant a Yankee!". LOL
I still laugh at these Northern fools coming down here thinking they are buying prime, Florida lake-front property in a gated community, when, in fact, 9 X out of 10 it is a drained wetland and the "lake" is a retention pond for drainage during heavy rains, with a fountain stuck in the middle of it to circulate the stagnant, nasty water.
Yeh, the South is sooo bad, yet they just keep coming. Sigh--hope this recent crash in the housing market and mortages will send them packing. We were fine before them and will be just fine afterward, thank you.
lol- yes they've been coming to Texas since the late 1970s when their economies began falling apart. Unfortunately, they never seem to leave.

That ole Emancipation Proclamation isn't such a good argument for you now that his personal comments regarding blacks have been exposed. He definitely sounds like he had high moral character and was only acting in the best interest of blacks right.

It's just easier competing against the stupid locals down here!

Raise the flag, lower the collective IQ a few more notches. Doesn't bother me a long as the southern knuckleheads mow my grass correctly.

Working in a factory or grocery store isn't exactly competing. Most people in mt state still mow our own grass but no one elses.

I started my own lawn care business in high school. It paid for my college and was quite flexible.

<quoted text> YOUR KNOWLEDGE IS VERY THIN,GEN ROBERT EDWARD LEE IS VERY CLOSE AND MAY BE THE FINEST MAN EVER TO LIVE IN THIS COUNTRY. DURING THE WAR HE HAD TO SETTLE AN ESTATE THAT REQUIRED THE SLAVES TO BE FREED BUT DIDN'T PROVIDE FOR A WAY FOR THEM TO LIVE AND LEE AGONIZE OVER THIS, TO QUOTE HIM"HOW WILL THESE PEOPLE LIVE."
I do not know if it is thin if I do not have an interest in General Lee? Regardless of whatever, he fought to maintain slavey so how can Blacks, we, look at him as anything but the devil? It is like someone claiming a general of the Nazis who did something for Caucasians of the Jewish after World War II was a friend.

Too tell you the truth I don't know what I would do.And wouldn't know until I was in that situation.I disagree with you about Lee. He wouldn't marry his wife till she freed her slaves.Lincoln married into the biggest slave holding family in Kentucky.Jackson sent all of his pay to a church in West Vir. to help educate blacks and to help lead them to the Lord. My point is not everybody was for slavery.I do agree it was wrong but if it was all about slavery why would the Confederate government offer freedom to slaves if they fought for them ? Also I like a good conversaion without name calling.
I appreciate your honesty! General Lee sounds like a man of principle but he led the Confederate. That rebukes any other deed to Blacks as you probably would think of a Black who did wrong to Caucasians.

Too bad that it's not as easy for college kids to do that anymore, or for teens to get jobs. I heard on the news the other day that there are less jobs for teens this summer than at any time since the 1940s. Now you have middle aged people, mostly foreigners, mowing lawns, making sandwiches, being busboys. That's sad.

This is alittle off subject but what do you think of the 3000 plus free blacks in the South who owned slaves ? And who they fought for.

Yet it's not easy keeping industry and economies running in the rust belt. I notice you write in Spanish. Figures.

Daily Horoscope for January 5

Cancer

You've had enough time to yourself lately. This is a day to focus on family, with all the good and bad that that brings. Crabs would much rather be at the top of the tree than down near the roots, but that's life. You might be smart when it comes to matters of the heart, but you don't know it all quite yet.
