orlando sentinel redesign sucks!!!!!!!!

Post here if you hate the new layout!

I am getting my news from other sources that are easier to navigate, including:

Unbelievably shitty design. A true slap in the face to all unemployed website designers.

The economy's so bad, people can't even afford to buy a gun -- they have to rent one just to kill themselves.

HATE IT!

It is an absolute disgrace, and I think it's designed by teenaged crackheads! What was wrong with the old design? NOTHING! Why can't anyone leave anything alone? If it ain't broke, don't go tryin' to fix it. Or is this another one of those changes just for the sake of change? How's that workin' out for ya, El Slantnel?

It was already so slanted the ink ran off my pages, but this new "design" makes it even harder to digest!

I mean I know you can't equate blogs with actual news gathering organizations.

But according to one industry insider, the Sentinel is going more to a blog format anyway, where reporters just post whatever crap they want right onto the news page with no editors to fact check.

I forgot to add... scroll to the bottom of that link for 80 juicy comments including posts by angry/anonymous Sentinel newsroom staffers.

This new form is horrid......pure and simple...they don't really want any feed back on discussing stories......they have went to great lengths to smother comments between posters.......
It won't do any good to complain to the Sentinel about it......where one gets these people is in the pocketbook!....

Perhaps They should just save face and fold up the entire online paper....

The new format with the OS is terrible, awful, and asinine. I just go onto Topix Orlando now. But that is still a pain because they have all the Anthony threads in one area and you have to specify Casey Anthony to get to them. I won't even go into the OS anymore.

I agree. Freedom of speach is dead at the slantinel!

I don't like the new format either. It takes forever to load and they've cut the "news" down, too. I agree with Accept Defeat ... many really talented web designers out of work, and they've got some idiot doing their site. Can't find anything "creative" about it, and it's slowwwwwww.

As a total industry outsider--most immediately irked that the open commenting forum here has been severed--it's a surprise and a bummer (but also interesting) to read the comments section below Apple's post.

the sentinel will take something like rectum rail, and even though 95% of the people who were supporting this "newspaper" are against it, will still ram it down everyones throat every day.

same with global warming, global health care, more taxes to save us, more government to protect us, etc, etc, etc.

a reasonable person may think that they are going for one of their government bailouts, as it is apparent that this new junk they are trying to sell will chase the few people who actually pay taxes and spend money in their community away for good.

then they can kiss the prophets husseins butt all day long, and not have to actually produce anything at all to get paid.

Has anyone actually been able to use the Orlando Sentinel Site Redesign Survey? I checked it a couple of days ago, filled it out but there is no way to SUBMIT it. I just checked back to see if it was fixed but it is the same thing. Questions 1 - 11 and then a 12 out in space and no way to submit. I do get the feeling they really don't care what we think of the new site. They don't want our opinions on anything. Fine.

I quit subscribing to the Sentinel quite a while ago. I did check it out as the first source I would go to for local news. They never did do a good job with State, National or World news. From there could go to other sources to get details on stories I thought might be interesting. Sentinel was always a bit low on details. I also liked the "ticked off" column for a diversion and enjoyed some of the very funny comments from imaginative poster there.

Now I will have to go to other sites for the primary news source. No need to go to Sentinel anymore. It is rather sad but it was also inevitable.

The slantinel apparently does not want any dissent so they have made it impossible to comment on their articles or editorials.
The new format really sucks.
