Python strangles child: Death in Sumter County.

A Web site is reporting a child has been strangled to death by a python in Sumter County, Local6.com is reporting the incident occurred just after 10 a.m. at a residence in the 1500 block of county Road 466 in Oxford.

They would climb power poles and short electrical grides. Killed native bird species et al. We would hold an annual samke round-up with the winner with the most dead snakes winning a Toyota pick-up. That's what we need here. A bounty system on pythons. Or does PETA have another solution to our snake problem?

Ok, so if this is a gentle animal otherwise, but broke free, unless it was during the night when the whole family is sleeping, this sould not have gone unnoticed. Poor child, how sad. The python was probably looking to eat, they only eat once a week usually, probably was overdue for food.

As far as the parents allowing something like this in the house with small children is just stupid. I wonder how many times these parents said something about a parent leaving a loaded gun around the house. I sure the snake was a guy thing.

What kind of pleasure could you possibly get from having a "pet" like that....especially with young children! What in the world were these people thinking? What a terrible, needless tragedy.

I hope the parents get charged and go to prison. I have a neighbor who has a pitbull and 2 young children at home. I kept warning him to keep the dog from his children. Well, the dog went mad one day and bit off one of the kid's finger. He had to shoot the damn dog. Stupid parents!!
