What's the last movie you saw? In the theatre, rented or did you watch something on cable? We rented Paul this past weekend. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1092026/ It's a comedy about a couple of Brits doing a tour of the US UFO sites and finding an alien that just escaped from the government. It was fair, good for a rental, not as funny as Shaun of the Dead or Hot Fuzz but it did have it's moments. Kristen Wiig is in it and she is hilarious. Lots of F-Bombs though.

Didn't realize Kristen Wiig was in 'Paul'. I'm a huge fan. Haven't rented anything in awhile due to DVR being jam-packed with good shows to watch. Last film I rented was 'Paranormal Activity II,' which was pretty darn spooky. The first movie was even scarier. The movies are videotaped, which gives the viewer a sense of immediacy that they are right there with the characters. It's also fun for me b/c both films were shot at a house in San Diego. Lots & lots of jump-out-of-your-seat shivery moments in this franchise.'PA 3' just came out on DVD, so I'll be seeing that soon. Thursday I plan on renting 'Midnight in Paris,' that Woody Allen film I've been dying to see. I'll let you know what I think.

I love the premise of Midnight in Paris but I now have a hard time seperating the art from the artist. I do not like Woody Allen's actions in his personal life. I am very tempted to see the movie though, love the era that Owen Wilson's character gets a window to, so do let me know.

Speaking of movies, Hugo was nominated for 11 Academy Awards. Have I been in the Twilight Zone? I've never even heard of Hugo. I hate it when Hollywood pulls crap like this.

Hugo was a film by Martin Scorsese. It was supposed to be very good and a homage to very early film. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0970179/ I wanted to see it but it was only at our local theatre for a week.

'Hugo' is one of those movies that get rave reviews, but no one sees. That hyperrealism thing, like in 'Polar Express,' really wigs me out.

My husband and I rarely go to the movies because we have completely different tastes. He likes non-stop action, I like something a little more cerebral than watching things blow up.

I really want to see the Artist also. I doubt it will come to my podunk town though. I really enjoy catching silent movies on TCM. It's interesting to think of them as the ultimate in technology of their day and how they have progressed. We saw Legends of the Fall this morning on Bravo. The end scene made everyone laugh. Brad Pitt sure was purty in that one. Poor Aidan Quinn, good actor, but never got the super stardom he deserves.
