There are still good movies being made, but you have to hunt for them - if it isn't a blockbuster, it's off screen in a week. Long Hot Summer...how about Cat on a Hot Tin Roof? Did your dad get to know Jackie Gleason?(did you know he was also a composer of music?)

The closest we ever got, was we would drive by him in his golfcart, and wave at eachother....he had a fancy golfcart, that was all souped up and had a bar on it...Unlike Dean Martin, i think Jackie was a serious drinker......he was a great ambassador for Miami and south Florida.....

"what is a grit?" lol, I've seen it a few times and never get tired of the antics of Joe Pesci. I think the funniest part was when he walked into court with the suit from the second hand store.

How about Clint Eastwood in Revenge of the Creatlure? Probably not his best work. The blob was great, but do you remember Jane's annoying little brother? The child actor that portrayed Danny was horrible!

I didn't care for her other movie. She was so good in Amelie, I wanted her to be that same character in the movie you mentioned. I can't remember the name of it. I didn't mind the subtitles. It was such a good movie. Really delightful.
