A Night at the Opera and Bringing Up Baby.
Both have some great lines and are timeless.

<quoted text> Does it seem like, back then they just made many more real, quality movies?....recently watched, The Long, Hot Summer.....with Paul Newman and Orson Welles.....BTW, Jackie Gleason lived by my Dad, in Miami Lakes, years ago.....
There are still good movies being made, but you have to hunt for them - if it isn't a blockbuster, it's off screen in a week.

Long Hot Summer...how about Cat on a Hot Tin Roof?

Did your dad get to know Jackie Gleason?(did you know he was also a composer of music?)

The closest we ever got, was we would drive by him in his golfcart, and wave at eachother....he had a fancy golfcart, that was all souped up and had a bar on it...Unlike Dean Martin, i think Jackie was a serious drinker......he was a great ambassador for Miami and south Florida.....

That is definitely a funny movie! "what is a grit?" lol, I've seen it a few times and never get tired of the antics of Joe Pesci. I think the funniest part was when he walked into court with the suit from the second hand store.

I love the original Blob. MSTK3 material. But a lot of 50's movies are. This was before they invented running away from the monsters. How about Clint Eastwood in Revenge of the Creatlure? Probably not his best work.
The blob was great, but do you remember Jane's annoying little brother? The child actor that portrayed Danny was horrible!

I didn't care for her other movie. She was so good in Amelie, I wanted her to be that same character in the movie you mentioned. I can't remember the name of it. I didn't mind the subtitles. It was such a good movie. Really delightful.

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Libra

It's one of those difficult days when anything can and will happen. Someone you were relying on might let you down, plans could be changed at the eleventh hour or a machine could go on the blink. To make matters worse, your energy levels are very erratic, so you feel full of beans one minute and ready to go to sleep the next. Don't make the situation worse by eating foods that give you a high followed by a slump.
