Petition protests ferry fare increases

The ferries are our bridge; part of the highway system. Other highway users don't pay for bridges and access to their homes in Washington.
You might think that we are being singled out, penalized because of where we happen to live...I think paying more than $20 to get home is more because of the unwillingness in our government to look at things from outside the status quo 'box'. The ferries the rest of the world is switching over to are catamaran shaped, designed by a Tasmanian. They are so good, fast and efficient, that militaries are buying them for troop carriers. We could get here faster and cheaper if we were willing to shift our priorities to vessels that were not based on antiquated design.
