Not so fast___the landlord has little if any rights regarding the issue.

While I don't know the facts surrounding this case I can assure you the various laws relative to renting homes/apartments on the open market favor the tenant or potential tenant.

While background checks are easily available on adults, children, specifically teenagers are legally off limits from scrutiny. Also, in the wild and wacky world of joint custody arrangements, a tenant may have no children at home but ones who visit very frequently.

"This happens a lot". What an unqualified statement. How do they know it happens a lot?

Racism is still alive people. It will never die. Racist will never let it die. This racist POS shouldn't even be allowed to have his own business.

It's the owners apartment, to be done with as the owner wishes. My mother is a landlord and owns several income properties, one of which is a medium sized apartment complex.

She carefully screens and checks every applicants credit record, if they don't pass they don't rent, simple as that. Unfortunately for some races, they, in general, have poor credit so they are not rented to. I call it good business practice to not rent to people with bad credit, others call it racist.
