Legal and illegal residents with criminal backgrounds, especially drug dealers/users, by law must be deported. Immigrants with criminal backgrounds should not be granted citizenship simply because they served a brief period in the military service, after all by enlisting in the service they get paid and receive other benefits. They don't enlist because they love this country, so why aren't they getting a pardon for violating the law? This military service credit is what proponents of the Dream Act are trying to pass for illegal immigrants.

"The military, the 53-year-old said, was a way out of gang life in Santa Ana, teaching him mechanical skills and allowing him to meet comrades he'd keep for years."

Why didn't he just move to another state? The government just him another chance to kill someone. Odds are he'll be back on drugs if he already isn't.

Being a veteran does not exempt one from being subject to the law. Same as the rest of us. Most of the veterans know this.

So if a natural citizen who is a veteran commits a felony or two by possessing drugs and doing who knows what else, we will just overlook that/those crime(s)? Yeah, right. I didn't think so.

Why are these people being given special treatment? So he was here legally. He agreed, as a legal resident, that if he committed two misdemeanors or one felony, he would be deported. Period.

Quote:
However, legal immigrants who are considered aggravated felons under immigration law are banned from applying for citizenship. This includes military servicemen, according to the law.
End Quote

So what made him so special? TWO measly years in the service that provided him with pay, benefits, skills, etc.? And then, after getting out, he hosted a drug den and drug parties at his place?

All this country did was cheapen citizenship (yet again) by providing this criminal drug addict with citizenship.

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Capricorn

You feel like overindulging yourself in some way today, and why not? Throw caution to the wind and eat your way through a big bar of chocolate, or have a retail therapy session that leaves you reeling from the amount of money you've spent. There's a definite chance you could get carried away and tell a whopper of a story that has little resemblance to what really happened. What on earth has got into you?
